My pasture looks like a brown paperbag.  Be awhile before the grass comes in here.  Still some cold weather to contest with so it slows the process up some.  Just as well as I have some fence and water gaps to mend and spread some fertilyzer.

"My pasture looks like a brown paperbag."   rofl   Good one!

The pastures are actually my neighbor's, but he begged me to fence it for the horses so he wouldn't have to mow it any more. Problem is, its some sort of "native" grass, and doesn't have the bounce back qualities of "pasture" grass.  So, I've cross fenced it, and am reseeding it in sections.  Now is the time to tear up some more of it and get it reseeded, but when it rains like this the tiller just is not effective.  Waiting for the next window of opportunity.

Eventually, I get the alder forest section of my own place cleared and "pasturized"  ::).  Then I'll have enough for a cow as well.  At that point, I can quit worrying about fertilizer, because cows do a perfect job of it. Then it is just all about rotating the stock.

Snowed yesterday and last night. Just about all melted off, more predicted.

Sunny and 72F. d* Not suppose to last that long as rain or snow is in the forecast next couple of days.  Mother Nature can be a tease.

We got about 2 inches of snow overnight but the sun is shining now.  the snow is still about 10 inches deep in the shaded areas.  Usually the snow is melted by now and by St Patricks day we have green grass everywhere but this year I think we will still have snow.

I just got back from walking Jim the Puppy.  I had my jean jacket on, but only barely wanted it.  It's a clear sky with 45 degrees.

45 degrees?  No way.  It has to be warmer than that...

considerations

got up to 28F today....sun was out.  ???

It has been pretty nice for the past week but it's snowing today. It was 80 two days ago.  d*

-3F this morning.  -33F at the up-north place.  I chose to be cold, rather than frozen and stayed home.

40's forecast for Monday though.  Spring is in the air.  At least I hope so.

Warm and getting ready to rain again. I've been waiting for it to dry out enough plow for three weeks >:(

Well I guess that "Old Man Winter" is not done with us yet.  This is what I woke up to this morning. Temp 32F and 2" of the white stuff.

Beauty day here.

Mid to high 60's through next Friday -  lows in the 40s.  Garden time. :)

It was a burn day and I was torching everything.  I had piles of brush pushed up with the Bobcat - some since last summer - some finishing off piles I started before.  Better now then during fire season when I don't want them to burn.

Its 60F!  Haven't seen that in months.  The sun is shining the Swallows, Eagles and Hummingbirds are back.....What a relief!  I was tired of wearing so many clothes I felt like the Pilsbury DoughBoy.

Wicked windy today and still so far this evening. Temperature's not bad, still 58 at present.

For my mountains they're calling for more chances of snow over the next coupe of days.  ???  Maybe we'll flip a coinn Friday night to see of we try to get up there on the weekend. The weekend is supposed to be sunny up there.

More snow! I glanced out the office window this AM and was greeted with a view of white stuff blowing through the air!    By tonight there's another 6 inches up in the mountains according to my spy. I have to laugh though, Denver is supposed to get 20".

Stay home and do chores I guess tomorrow. And get to know the new laser printer.

Wierd weather. ???

Last thur - fri 101 high 70 low

sat - Sun 65 high 40 low

And yesterday Sunday  a small tornado hit the property behind me.  Took out a horse shelter and corral.  Missed us by about 50 feet. :o

It got real dark then IDW and I heard a loud bang,  we checked out the back door in time to see the shelter drop back down on the edge of he one next to it.  Luckly the horses were at a show for the day and no one was hurt. ???
