Currently getting clobbered by freezing rain and sleet.

Worst we've seen in a very long time.

Just moved my truck, in case the trees start coming down.

There's some thunder associated with this storm.

Weird.

Government weather tampering - they have been spraying constantly before the storms.

I don't know if this would be a good subject matter but it would interest me in knowing what the weather is like throughout the US.  Maybe how it has affected your individual projects.  As for me I think we came out pretty easy on this last storm as compared to some others north and west of me.  Got about 1/2 of ice on Friday night and then Saturday afternoon it started snowing and overnight I guess the total snowfall was 3-4".  The boy is enjoying his duties as there is no school and the 4 wheeler/Blade is getting it's workout this morning.

As for my building project it has almost slowed to a stop. I am in the chinking stage and with the dips in temp I am afraid to try to do any. The day temps would be OK but with a drop at night I am afraid it will freeze the mortar before it has sufficent cure time.
Thought I'd retrieve Redovers' post.
My home is  frozen solid.
The dog needs to go outside.........

21 in Arkansas. Expected low 5 with windchill in the minus area. Suppose to be same tomorrow with freezing rain coming towards night. Strange weather.

I can't remember the last time the weather has been like this.  Usually it is UP or DOWN for weeks at a time but not every other day.

6F this morning.  Talk about giving the powerstroke a work out getting it started. After about 3 tries the blue smoke filled the air.

10˚ this morning.....  What's with that, this is supposed to be the deep south >:(

Whitlock

It's been really cold the past few days. 9 this morning and in the low 20's now. Chance of snow on christmas eve.

Jens

about 15 and clear, breezy.  Supposed to be back up to 50's and rainy for Christmas and eve.
just spent a few days building a website, and didn't know that it could be so physically taxing to sit and do nothing all day!

Snow is moving across northern NM. We'll see how much falls on the cabin soon, I hope.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

considerations

The thawing has started here, we are up to about 35 in the daytime and high 20's at night.  I'm ok with that, there is still almost 2' of snow outside.  Had to dig down to get the outhouse door open.

ScottA

Cold and windy again today. No snow though. I'm trying to get up the courage to go over to deer run and do some work.  d*

Somewhat of a change from the last two days of single digits.  Freezing rain this morning but I see the temps have made it up to 35.  Maybe by this evening the ice will be gone.  Didn't want to chance going to the cabin and ruining my Christmas by rolling the truck over the bank like a repeat of a few weeks ago.  Anyway I have to start playing Santa.  Still haven't got one thing wrapped.

StinkerBell

Snow, snow, snow.

I have never seen so much snow here. Had to go take all the snow off the roof of the shed, so it would not collapse.

considerations

Got the driveway plowed yesterday. 20 at night 35 during the day, things are finally starting to melt.

The 12/12 pitch on the cabin sloughes snow beautifully.  There are snow banks all around it, directly below the drip line.

glenn kangiser

That's a bit of improvement, considerations.  I like the steep roof.  Rain here like crazy - supposed to turn to snow -- and enough wind that it charged up my batteries pretty good.

70% chance snow today 40 tonight 44-33 expected but mostly sun tomorrow w/ near same temps.

I spoke with my sister this morning, she lives near Portland, OR. It was snowing again and there are drifts over 4 ft high. She also said in between the snows, there was freezing rain. She can't get out and she is running out of everything, including pellets for her stove. She is also afraid that her carport is going to cave in and crush her car. She is unable to get it cleaned off. She already hurt herself when she slid out her back door on the ice and cut herself up with the ice. I am so far away that I can't help her. Not that it helps her now, but I told her that as soon as travel gets safer, I was coming to get her and bring her back here to live. She said she is ready to leave there. She left eastern Oregon to get away from the bad weather and now they are having one of the freak storms that hit once in awhile. I don't think she is having a very good Christmas. :(
