Here's some new pics.

Veranda cieling in progress.

Cabnet for tankless water heater.

I'm not sure what this stuffs for. ???

W/H cabnet from the inside. This will get swallowed up by the kitchen cabnets.

Can lights. There are 8 of these around the outside of the house.

Trying to make some progress but it seems like I can never work more than a couple of hours with out getting called away for something or other.

Looks really good, Scott!  I kinda like the black contrast of the felt with the spacers (screen wall, strapping, whatever it's called - I asked Glenn  ;) )

Looks really good. Curious about that cabinet for tankless water heater. The ones I've seen were alot shorter and installed inside.
[cool] house.

Looking good Scott.  I still think a stone entryway around the door would set it off.  You already have the builders paper up. Add lathe, parge and stone.  Maybe find something in the color that compliments the siding color.  If I was closer I would do it for you. ;D

ScottA

Terry the tankless water heater mounts inside the cabinet. There is also room inside for all the valves and connections. With this setup no vent is needed as it vents directly to the outside. Also makes it easier to work on since it access from outside.

John are you talking about around the veranda door?
I'm planning to do the wall behind the woodstove and the visable piers with the veneer stone that home depot sells.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

Yes that is what I was talking about. Like I did around my front door to the cabin.

ScottA

That's a good idea. I may do that. Thanks

Terry

Thanks for the details on the cabinet. I like the idea to have it on the outside.  :)

New pics.

You may recall I mentioned this a while back.

I finnished the cieling over the veranda.

After talking it over with the wife we decided to go with Johns idea of putting veneerstone around the veranda door. We'll use the same stone we are planning to use behind the wood stove and on the piers. Thanks again John that should make a nice contrast to the cedar.

Scott I think it would really set it off.  I listed a page of companies for the stone.  Eldorado & Owens Corning are probably the most handled.  Not that they are any better than the rest just more available.  You might search it out as a lot of companies will ship it to you.  If you look around there might be one close to you and a small day trip to pick it up.  Just guesstimating it looks like about 40-50 Sq Ft will do it from the inside corner to the outside corner. That's the cheapest portion of your stone as all will be "flats" and no corners required.  Don't know what you have inside.  Now the next big question is the style stone to choose.  That is sort of like paint color it may take some time.  ;D

I'm happy you like the cabin.

I met with the water company today. They finaly got their main relocated and are now ready to release new taps. I applied for 2 taps. One for us and one for my brothers house. With any luck we should have water 4-6 weeks. I got the plumbing in for the kitchen and laundry this week. Also finished about 20 more feet of sofit around the north side. I hope to have that and the rest of the DWV plumbing done next week.

Sassy

Sounds like you are moving right along!  Oh, and I really like that dragon carving & how you placed it  8)

I'll get you some pics this coming week Terry. Sorry I've real been busy. I finished up the sofits and trim and dwv plumbing this week. Today I brought over about 50 more cedar boards so I can start back on the siding this coming week. I'll be doing the west side (the one with the bumpout) next.

Bishopknight

Scott,

You're doing an amazing job! I really like the siding, outdoor recessed lights and wood finishing everywhere. Its giving me ideas :)

Thanks Bishopknight.

I wanted to show you all this rig before I packed it away again.

This is a Jasper circle jig. It mounts on a plunge router. I used this for cutting the holes for the can lights. It cuts a perfect circle every time.

Hope thats not too many pics.  :P

MountainDon

Too many pictures?  No way!!

Looking nice Scott.  :)
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Redoverfarm
