Just wait for your 100F summer...it'll melt :)
A bad day of fishing beats a good day at work any day, but building something with your own hands beats anything.

It's here again.  Currently 24F and snowing.  Winter Blizzard Warning in effect until Sunday AM with accumulation of 12-18" and winds 35-50 MPH.

I think WV should have put their name in the hat for the 2014 Winter Olympics.  ;)

I was wondering if that storm would turn to rain or snow for you, John.  Looks like it may continue as we have a bit more coming.

....and yet few can see the weather modification games that are being played...  they are up there daily.  :)

QuoteScott Stevens - Is there any Natural Weather Left?

February 5, 2010 - Friday evening

Scott Stevens discovered global weather modifications while looking into reasons for his diminishing forecast accuracy as a former television weatherman.  This global weather modification effort appears to have its roots in the political urgency behind global warming.  The Climategate scandal underscored these revelations.

I spent some time watching the vids from Scott Stevens.  A great short video showing a bit of what's up with the weather.

Scott Stevens is a published meteorologist and does a pretty good explanation here.

No change from Yesterday.  Still 24F and hasn't stopped snowing since Thursday evening.  Although the hourly rate of accumulation is not great it is adding up.  On a similar note Snowshoe Ski resort reported yesterday that this season has had over 210" of natural snow.  As the crow flies it is probably 20 miles from the house.

Yes Glenn I am watching (for what good that does) of that weather front expected to hit here Mon/Tue this week.

glenn kangiser

John, it is still raining here.  I think it is going to go for 24 hours.

It'll probably bring you a couple more feet, eh?

Lets hope ScottA uses it up before it gets to me.  Actually I looked at the National radar and it showed a "little" bit of rain over you and the rest of the country between us was pretty good shape.  I am waiting for the weekend.  Suppose to get in the 40's.  Don't want a real fast warm up for two reasons 1. It will spoil me and 2nd it will wash away our County Seat.  There is a lot of moisture in these mountains just lying and waiting to join the water supply that runs south through town.  85 there was 8' of water in the stores and in 96 there was 6'.  :(

Here's hoping for a sloooooow thaw.

10" of snow on the ground for the first day of spring and still snowing hard. Expecting up to 6" more.  d*

Redoverfarm

You can keep it Scott.  Although the Farmers Almanac predicts 48" before the 28th for this area.  I hope they got their wires crossed when they wrote it up.  But if there is a silver lining it would be that it will not last long.  I am still looking at a very small pile of snow left  along the driveway from the 5' pile.  It probably has been there since Christmas.

Almost a perfect spring day!. The sun is shining. It's now 79 degrees, shirt sleeve weather for sure, but not too hot. And the night's are still cool enough, the cold water is still cold out of the tap!  Just a tad on the windy side, but not too bad to complain much.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Really a beautiful day, sun shinning, a little wind. Blue birds are building nests. Red Buds blooming and dogwoods are getting ready. Nice temp about 72.
Don't worry about the horse being blind, just load the wagon.

70's for the second day in a row here in Minnesota.  Those lakes are melting fast!

Just a couple weeks ago I called my uncle in Wisc. and he was standing on 30 inches of ice with about 120 cars out there on the lake fishing.

Another storm here - probably sending you guys some snow.  I'm off to work.  Have a good day.

I guess Mother Nature is not finished her winters work.  Temp was 28F with a heavy frost.  I hope that not too many tried rush the season with early planting.

Our tomatoes are growing tomatoes in the greenhouse still in the original pots I bought them in.  The two I planted in the garden look OK though.

Didn't actually look today.  It was comfortable for a change. Presently 62F.  While I was at the outer banks and communicating with family and friends it dipped to 46F a couple of nights back home.  Darn seems like summer keeps getting shorter and shorter each year.

Redoverfarm

HOT & DRY.  Year before last was about the same at the same time of the year.  It has been so dry that a yard that I normally mow out of necessity ever week has just been mowed for the first time in 30 days.  Only about half green and the rest is brown.  Well the experts would say dormant but it looks dead to me.  The small stream still has intermitent pools of water.  The water level drops to below the creek base and continued to run only surfacing at the lower pools.  But I can't complain as it still has water for the cows.  Speaking of which the grass is really getting short for them as well.

Only 116 F today...a bit warm but not uncomfortable.

On One day it was 105 in the burbs and 109 at the farm. That's real unusual here. Dry as a bone and I need to buy a couple hundred bales of straw. I haven't checked the prices but I'll bet they're up.
