Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in. I drink at it; but while I drink I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is. Its thin current slides away, but eternity remains. I would drink deeper; fish in the sky, whose bottom is pebbly with stars..........  Henry David Thoreau
My vessel is so small....the seas so vast......

"It also gives us a very special, secret pleasure to see how unaware
the people around us are of what is really happening to them."
-- Adolf Hitler

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders
of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple
matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist
dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or
no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the
leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being
attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and
exposing the country to greater danger."
-- Hermann Goering

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes
you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat
or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving
to the ball game.

The best definition of success I have seen.  I think it is my new motto.  I love it.

With that said I would consider my life a success.

QuoteHow to use Your IRS Rebate check

As you may have heard, the Bush
Administration said each of us would get a
rebate check to stimulate the economy.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs. If we purchase a computer, it will go to India. If we purchase fruit and vegetables, it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala. If we purchase a good car, it will go to Japan.

If we purchase useless stuff, it will go to Taiwan and none of it
will help the American economy.

We need to keep that money here in America. The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it at yard sales, since those are the only businesses still in the U.S.

"The war against illegal plunder has been fought since the beginning of the world. But how is... legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish this law without delay ... If such a law is not abolished immediately it will spread, multiply and develop into a system."

The next step is to fascinate fools and muzzle the intelligent, by emotional excitement on the one hand and terrorism on the other. "

“Those who would transform a nation or the world cannot do so by breeding and captaining discontent or by demonstrating the reasonableness and desirability of the intended changes or by coercing people into a new way of life. They must know how to kindle and fan an extravagant hope. It matters not whether it be hope of a heavenly kingdom, of heaven on earth, of plunder and untold riches, of fabulous achievement or world dominion."

"A man is likely to mind his own business when it is worth minding. When it is not, he takes his mind off his own meaningless affairs by minding other people’s business”.

I guess it should say, "if you don't have a goal, then you don't have a path."  d*

I never tried to "publish" the thought before now.  Didn't convey it very well.   d*

How about if you don't have a goal you don't need a path? hmm

Goals, paths and schedules just mess me up.  Always causing me to try to keep up with my own or someone elses expectations.

They do work for getting things done sometimes though  If I can remember to look at my list or where I wrote it.

There are an infinite number of ways to spend the time we have.  There are certainly things in life we don't get to choose, and one just has to role with the punchs sometimes.  You are correct in that if one does not have a goal, no path is needed.  Nothing wrong with that.  It's just another way of being.
