Got back last night with a gigantic load of unnatural resources.  Scary.... [scared]

It was such a big load of all kinds of stuff that Whitlock said we better tarp it.  Didn't make the load better but sure looked better going up the freeway.

We had 6 Mexican workers loading stuff into the boxes for 5 1/2 hours along with Whitlock and I..... now where do I put it?...  [noidea'

There's no proof w/o pics. ;)

MountainDon

You don't want to see it.     n*

Been there, seen it.   [shocked]

Scary!

  ;)   ;)   ;)

;D ;D

Probably need more flat spots.

On another note; Karen is working on polishing the story of our trip. We'll get it done soon.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Mtn Don and Karen were here.   I was wondering when the story would surface......

....they understand...... [waiting]

there is not a flat spot to be found....but what other surprises await..... [scared]

:)

John, PEG, Don.... I will go up and get pix.....

Yes Don... I think more flat spots will be required... or Whitlock says I could just organize what is already here.... [noidea'

Pix.. OK... [waiting]

I am standing in a flat spot I just cleared but hate to put stuff here as it is at the end of my sawmill...

It is only about 15 feet wide.

Here is the current load looking for temporary quarters.....

...and another shot.... ???

...and untarped....

Anybody recognize anything there ... see anything of interest..... wonder why the hell I would drag this crap up the hill?  [noidea'

Some of it may be of questionable usefulness but I could only give the workers general guidelines of what to keep and what to send.  Possibly useful - load it.   Obvious trash... to the dumpster.  [ouch]

I think they may have been confused which was the trailer and which was the dumpster!!! rofl

I think I see a PVC sink stem in there, ya right there next to the other junk!!!  c*

glenn kangiser

But did you see the 1940 Lincoln Zephyr headlight?  [noidea'

..and the engine cylinder boring machine.. and the precision tool grinder... and the rock saw and the small press..

Yes - there will be more stuff headed for the dumpster from here too I think but will I live long enough to sort it all out?  [ouch]

Collected since around 1974....  :o

Another thing was old paint cans - I didn't want a dumpster rejected for hazardous (wink-wink.... I never died from chewing on lead).... materials.  Actually probably no lead paint but some oil base in there.

Old business papers.... need to get rid of them but not in a dumpster..... so they are coming up too.  [ouch]

I can see it is time to bring in some alternate opinions.....

Proverbs 24:3-5 Through wisdom is an house builded; an by understanding it is established.  4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.  5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

glenn kangiser

Yup... Rick is correct.. almost... Thomas Edison did say it.  Glenn heard it?..... [noidea'

Rick, I'm not that old..... [ouch]

I just have to pull out those Edison Quotes when people pick on my junk.

Reading more on Edison you will find he said he more liked to take others inventions and improve them....

In fact, it was Nicola Tesla who invented our modern Alternating Current electricity and he had to argue and fight Edison because he wanted to use DC current... very impractical for long distance transmission of power.  Edison even had smear campaigns out against Tesla.  He tried to put Tesla in the hot seat so to speak.... Edison is cool  [cool]

but Tesla is one of my heroes....

Careful or I'll have to bring out Baldasare Forestiere..... heh

No, but I think I saw the professor's missing flux capacitor next to the DeLorean fender!  :P

glenn kangiser

Congratulations, Doc.  You found it.    [cool]

That was actually about a 2 1/2 foot long secondary for a Tesla Coil I built years ago.  I wound it on my lathe as I recall.  It would make your hair stand on end and shoot sparks about 6 inches as well as disrupt TV and communications in the neighborhood.  Very cool..... [waiting]

Problems was that voltage leaks kept getting into the primary and it would blow out ... hmm .. I think it was the capacitor.  [noidea'

No but I wouldn't be surprised to see something by Samuel Morse in there.. lol

I'll bet some of that stuff is rather valuable by now.
