What kind of bike do you have?  When the weathers good I commute on a bicycle.

QuoteWhat kind of bike do you have?

I have a Quintana Roo "road" bike that I built up in Jan. of 2007.  It's like a time trial or triathlon bike although it has lower gears more suited to the mountains in which I live and my age, 60. I bought the frame & fork on ebay. Other components came from all over the internet, and some bike shop closeouts.  I do about 85 or 90% of my miles on it.   I've put almost 6,000 miles on it in the two years I've had it.

I have a Marin mountain bike that I've owned since 1991 or so. It was a very good bike when I bought it, but it's something of a dinosaur now, being a rigid (no suspension) mtn bike.  I've replaced everything on it a couple times except for the crankset.  I ride it now and then with the local mtb club and when the roads are too wet for the road bike. I get a lot of comments about needing to upgrade to a suspension bike, but I'm more of a roadie and can't justify the cost for a bike I would only ride 250 or so miles a year.

What do you ride?

Get freight hauled in so I can get the shell done and dried in, woodstove installed and outhouse functional.

Pay off boat and truck.

Get in shape - Too many vices to list. Most are truely bad.

Catch a big fat 20 pound lake trout.

I ride a Specialized Allez.  It's a low end model that Specialized puts out.  Aluminum frame with carbon fork. It is an 18 speed, I live in the flat lands so it suits me just fine. I bought it completley built because it is my first road bike.  Before I bought it I didn't know any thing about road bikes.

The only upgrade so far is a set of armadillo tires. They have a steel wire in them and the rubber is strong.  It got so hot down here during the summer that the cheap stock tires kept puncturing because of tiny, tiny pieces of glass.  When it got hot I would get a flat everytime I rode so I decided to upgrade (I was meticulous when I changed my tubes to make sure that there was nothing in the tire every time I changed them).

I was riding it to school doing about 80 miles a week.

I think the Tri bikes are awesome, I really like the design and the aero bars.  The sport of cycling is very intense when it comes to racing products. It's good to see that you ride a lot that is awesome!

Finish the cabin up to the point of today's to do list... (nothing's ever really done, but I want to get to where it looks like it's completed at least.)

Then take some time to hike the woods.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.
