Here are the latest from my cabin building adventure.







The first wall covered with Hardie Plank, 28 ft from ground to peak.





Finished siding this summer and added a roof over the deck.
It was too much work shoveling snow away from the door when we can get there in winter.

Is that louvered metal eve fascia?

No, it just has bend lines to resemble the gable fascia. Vic West did that for me
when I ordered it with the roofing.

Those look like small boards holding up that porch roof....

are you putting posts in also?

The brackets are 4x4's. The one on the wall is lagged into 2x6's that are attached to the studs.
The ridge of the porch roof is a 2x8 that I extended through the exterior wall and glued and screwed to one of the second floor joists. My son and I were both on the roof deck building it and it felt very solid.
Hopefully it will be strong enough.
