Walter Williams has been one of my favorite columnists for many years. He has pretty much Libertarian views, sometimes more Conservative than Libertarian.

I really like Joe Bageant.

Professional working class redneck, friend of Hunter Thompson and Timothy Leary.

Makes sense to me.  :)

Don't agree with him all the time (I don't even agree with myself all the time!), but when he's on, he's spot on.

There's a book that looks to be a collection of his essays called Deer Hunting with Jesus that Amazon once--briefly--offered to sell us with something by Ann Coulter.

What a surprise!  Glad you decided to talk to us again, Amanda! ;)  I keep saying to Glenn, "I wonder how Amanda is, she hasn't posted in a long time, hope things are ok."  We missed you  :'(

Oh, forgot to say who my favorite columnist is - actually I have several...  Ron Paul-Rep from Texas (running for President of USA)- writes a great commentary every week.  I like Patrick Wood on "The August Review"; Dr. Edwin Vieira JD, Nancy Levant, Chuck Baldwin, Devvy Kidd - all on News WithViews - I read them on the internet, seldom read newspapers.

I hope that nobody has her listed as their favorite columnist...She is evil

Between a puffy knee (it even hurt to sit working on the computer), woman who was working for me going manic (she's now in the mental hospital having mentioned suicide, which may lead to her getting better, finally), not to mention heat and drought, I've been in something like a blue funk all summer.

(But if I'd gone up to Brentwood on June 11th to the Non-Medical Pain Relief Clinic I finally got to in August, I'd probably have the knee--and the rest of me since they're mostly concerned with posture--in good shape by the end of June.  Obviously, I didn't, but it's getting much better.)

Well, glad you are here.  I know that no one appreciates my off color jokes like you do. ;D

Good to "see" you again, Amanda. I've heard of Joe, but don't know much of him. I'll do some reading. There's nobody I agree with 100% of the time. That would be spooky, maybe scary.  :-/

Peter, c'mon.  Ann Coulter can be very funny. Just like Al Franken can be at times. And Ann's much better looking.  ;D  Looking at / reading, all sides gives one a wider perspective to form one's own opinions. (That said, I know I can be very opinionated.   :o  )

Here's from Ann's column today;
"This week, congressional Democrats vowed to investigate Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' firing of himself. Gonzales has said he was not involved in the discussions about his firing and that it was "performance-based," but he couldn't recall the specifics."

Ya' gotta at least chuckle a little, no matter what part of the political spectrum you occupy. Don't ya??     She herself does not claim to be impartial or balanced, admits she likes to stir the pot.    I believe she is entertaining and at times gives you me something to think about.

Maybe not everyone has a quirky a sense of humor as I, I'll admit.    :-/

Another tidbit from today's column...
"Let's compare attorneys general:
-- Civilians killed by Ashcroft: 0
-- Civilians killed by Gonzales: 0
-- Civilians killed by Reno: 80 " [ED: Waco, TX]

and...
"Number of U.S. attorneys fired by Ashcroft: 0
Number of U.S. attorneys fired by Gonzales: 8
Number of U.S. attorneys fired by Reno: 93"
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

I think the world would have been a much better place if Reno had swapped attorneys for civilians. :o

More Neal..... (long but a good read, a good summarization of his thoughts, which align very much with my own. He just expresses himself better)
