Sorry about that.  Too bad it was true ----  :-/

Amanda_931

would have been nicer if it was a kitty, but more likely this:

Dust mites are wonderful--but just think, we'd be knee deep in dead skin cells if they weren't there!

And yep, they are arachnids like ticks (and spiders).

glenn-k

Yup --that probably was it.  They are not as cute as a kitty, but there are lots of them.  Seem to be harder to make friends with than a kitty. :-/

Amanda_931

I really love that cartoon John posted.  Been there, done that, whined about other people doing that.

Three more Deep Thoughts (Jack Handy) for today:

Children need encouragement. If a kid gets an answer right, tell him it was a lucky guess. That way he develops a good, lucky feeling.

The face of a child can say it all, especially the mouth part of the face.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

This little story was sent to me the other day by a friend, thought you might enjoy it...

From one Crackpot to another and another!

Just a thought to brighten your day!

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the

ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect

and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long

walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home

only one and a half pots of water.  Of course, the perfect pot was proud

of  its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own

imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of  what it

had been made to do. After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter

failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of

myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the

way back to your house."

The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers

on  your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?" "That's

because  I  have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds

on  your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water  them."

"For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to

decorate the table.  Without you being just the way you are,

there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and

flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and

rewarding.

You've just got to take each person for what they are and look

for the good in them.

SO, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and

remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

WE THE PEOPLE

WTP Forcing Numerous High Courts to Grapple With The Meaning of The Petition Clause

Truth: the People are "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights."

Truth: The People instituted government "to secure these Rights," no more or less

Truth: The People instituted written constitutions to prohibit government from doing more or less.

Truth: The People have a Right to hold government accountable to these written constitutions.

Truth: The People have a "Right to Petition the government for Redress" of constitutional torts.

Truth: The People have a Right of Response from government to these Petitions for Redress.

Truth: The People have a Right to "alter the government" when it fails to respond to such Petitions.

Truth: The People have a Right of Enforcement of their Rights.

Truth: The People have a Right to retain their money until their grievances are Redressed.

The truths etched above form nothing less than the cornerstone upon which our form of governance exists and which distinguish it from every other form of government ever designed by man.  Indeed, it is solely through these Founding Principles that men can peacefully enjoy their natural dominion over servant governments and keep safe the blessings of Liberty.

No less than the United States Supreme Court and three federal Appeals Courts are now grappling with these fundamental truths in four separate cases initiated by Bob Schulz and the We The People Foundation.

Powerful quotes Glenn - from a couple of pretty smart guys!  ::)

We have to remember that this country was founded on an understanding that government must be limited and controlled by "the people" because otherwise the power-hungry will pick up the reins of power and use it for their own purposes.

Are "we, the people" willing or interested in doing that anymore?

My humblest apologies, PEG -- how could I ever have gone so wrong?  :-/ ;D  Besides, there weren't any pictures of my little incident-- only the effects. :)

Good question, John.  Even though I like to make lots of noise about it, I also am guilty of not doing enough.  Then again, many do not even make noise and still more don't even look deep enough into it to realize that there is a problem. :-/

Bread, circuses and Survivor reruns should be enough to keep the masses sedated!  :-[

In way I see a connection in all this "power speak", the govt. gets a bad time when it is over reaching and also when it's to slow to fix things , NO comes to mind  ::) BTW govt. troops are back to quell violence  by gangs .

Oddly the safest time ," least vioilence",  in NO MTL was at the height of the flooding  and in the next week or so,  if it was studied less" person to person "violence in the city would be the result IMO.

Not sure how to type all this but there is a wierd connection to the guest posting on this site and a out of control govt.

As Glenn and John decide what to do about it they in a way have become "Caesar" in a way with little check and balance .

Oddly I agree with all Glenn has done but I still see it as wierd / connected / sama type of thing Glenn and John just posted about on this thread  :o ::)

Yes a much smaller scale but as Glenn has posted on the other thread he's sort of "protecting us " from our self in a way, we could turn  the computer off and or avoid the spam sort of ,    and maybe is infringing on the spammers civil rights to free speach etc etc . Maybe I just trying to put the round peg in the sqr. hole . Maybe not ::) if you can see what I so pooly trying to say.

Just like Jeb Bush who I heard on Paul Harvey today has repealed the helmet law in Fl. like 6 years ago . Records show that when the helmet law was in about 20 folks killed per year every year since 200+ folks killed pre year .

So is he wrong should it be reverved , again?  What will that cost ??

So where is that line ? That balance point ? Have we / They :-/crossed it ?

If so ,,reality is it will never be recrossed / backed up, if so .

Sort of wierd , maybe makes no sence at all , oh well never said I was a public speaker/ typer.  :-[ :'(

When I rode things like Honda 50's in Honolulu, I felt--with a lot of people--that the ability to hear, to feel connected with the world around me probably made me, on balance, safer than wearing a helmet --couldn't hear, some peripheral vision loss, etc.

Even though I knew people who had had pretty dreadful accidents on scooters--even an accident where a helmet would have almost certainly prevented several days in a coma and permanent loss of smell/taste (he could still taste sweet/sour/salt/maybe bitter, but probably not been able to tell the difference by taste between an onion and an apple).

At the time I occasionally wondered if those of us who chose to ride without a helmet should post some sort of bond/carry insurance or something to pay for the cost of scraping us off the pavement.

By the time I got a big bike--every bit of 400cc's--that thought that 80 mph was a good speed, no complaining, no vibration, helmets may have been better designed, and it was nice to keep the rain out, and have bugs hit the face shield instead of me.

Choice is good.  But it may come with a cost.  For starters we have to think   ::)

I see what you are talking about PEG, but there are already sufficient laws in place to protect us without us having to give up our rights to our own castle.  Would you feel the same if you could see Big Brother standing beside you listening to your every word - following your every keystroke --

They haven't caught one real proven terrorist and some think that the 9/11 so called terrorists were assisted from the inside to help get things the way they are going today-- - but they have taken away our right to close our door to them --now they don't even have to knock.  What stranger do you trust with your property, life or family that much?

The spammers are free to open their own website or post on a health or porn website or other places they may be wanted.  I just blocked them from here and didn't even go into their home without knocking.  That is how my almighty power is limited----I'm too lazy to get up out of my chair and chase them down.  Oh, for more power. :-/ ;D

I view this as protecting my family from intruders. :)

Found this on a Bobcat publication.

Laws of Bad Luck

• A falling object will always land where it can do the most
damage.

• A shatterproof object will always fall on the only surface
hard enough to crack or break it.

• A paint drip will always find the hole in the newspaper and land on the
carpet underneath (and will not be discovered until it has dried).

• A dropped power tool will always land on the concrete instead of soft
ground (if outdoors) or the carpet (if indoors)—unless it is running, in
which case it will fall on something it can damage (like your foot).

• If a dish is dropped while removing it from the cupboard, it will hit the
sink, breaking the dish and chipping or denting the sink in the process.

• A valuable dropped item will always fall into an inaccessible place (a diamond
ring down the drain, for example)—or into the garbage disposal
while it is running.

• If you use a pole saw to saw a limb while standing on an aluminum ladder
borrowed from your neighbor, the limb will fall in such a way as to bend
the ladder before it knocks you to the ground.

Think for a moment what our country would be like if we did away with our Constitution, Bill of Rights & Declaration of Independence...

the following is a link to an interview about a real case scenario that is on-going right now - please take the time to listen to it - maybe you will agree with the plans & maybe you will be as outraged as I am...

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." -- Thomas Jefferson"

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

A time tested technique - a formula really - sort of like the techniques used for selling soap or cola drinks.

I think of my dad... who used to be a champion of the working man... from him I learned the honesty of good hard work and dirty hands. But that support for the working man evaporated long ago.

Now, with the urging of Rush Limbaugh and others he supports a government that takes money from working middle America and spends it on tax cuts for the top 5% of the wealthy.

You can get people to act in ways that are against their own self-interest if you can stir up sufficient emotion. Goering and Limbaugh understand this and use it to motivate the masses. Combine the feeling of being wronged with a call to patriotism and you have a powerful but blind anger you can point where you wish.

Combine this with Government Programming via Public Schools.

Starting even at the preschool level our children are programmed to respond to bells, unquestioningly shut off what they are doing and respond by moving to the next ordered action.  Questioning authority is not allowed.  You can take any subject you like as long as it fits in certain prescribed categories.  Sports training of one sort or another is usually mandatory.  Learn to hate the other team based on  different locations or colors.  Have a team mascot.  Unquestioningly support it and the team no matter what.

Independent thinking is discouraged -- Not a Team Player --- I proudly wore the label.

It is a simple matter to transfer this unquestioning blind unreasoning loyalty to the current political agenda.

It is much harder to have open minded independent thought and harder still to present that thought to individuals so programmed.  Their programming is so complete they refuse to even entertain a legitimate idea that corruption exists and is in control of current events.

The bell is ringing -- the flag is waving --- time to start salivating like Pavlov's dog.
