If you cover the floor with pecan hulls no one will know the difference. Now that's rustic.  :P

Hey Whit I noticed that the 2X12 appear to be rough sawn. Did you plane the loft surface for the floor.  If you didn't I am sure that wife will let you know when it comes time to walk or clean it.  ;D

I have been looking for old reclaimed flooring but none yet. I might leave it ruff and sand it with a floor sander ???

I was a little concerned by your opening line and was fearing that you would have to leave that great little house but I was relieved that you will be moving into it rather than away from it.  Seems that our family had moved about 7 times in my youth and all were long distance.  I wouldn't know what it would be like to just move a short distance.  Anyway when push comes to shove you have a good neighbor that will lend a hand I am sure.  Just have to keep the outside stuff outside and the insides stuff inside.  ;D

Whitlock

Red this is the shotest distance I have ever had to move only about 3000ft. Right now I live at the neighbors rental.
I'm kind of glad to be leaveing in a way it will make me get stuff done that I have been putting off.
The only problem is money But when isn't that a problem ???

Sorry to hear of your terrible weather.  ;)  You had taken notice of the stairs I was building on Dogtrot.  In case you missed my post I did get them installed and they give you an idea of what the finished product looks like.  They are @ http://countryplans.com/smf/index.php?topic=3613.msg105743#msg105743

Hey Glenn today I learned rust is the same as patina so only remove as little as posable or you might lower the value of the peace heh

glenn kangiser

I didn't remove any of the rust... just added new parts - OK - I took it out of the bearings.

BTW, I may be a bit slow to get back once in a while as it looks like I am working for about 3 weeks.  [ouch]
