I have been building the trash enclosure frames one stick at a time. Too much variation in the block walls and errors in the block contractors placement of the imbeds for the shop to send the parts out totally premade.

Back there tonight for an early start in the morning.  [ouch]

Squeezed the first section of Sassy's ramp/sidewalk into my weekend before going back to work in Walnut Creek.... sat on my can all day yesterday so thought I should get something done.... [noidea'

I thickened the edges a bit and reinforced it with Fibermesh as well as jute landscape erosion control netting.  I made the mix a bit strong with sand and a bit of pea gravel in it....it's what I had... so 3 to 1 mix.  I worked the first layer of cement well into the netting wetting it up a bit and squishing it in well with a rubber plaster float.

I edged it before and after texturing the surface with the rubber float.  That should give a good non slip surface for all but thick ice or snow.  :)

Gotta love the city....[waiting]

The job site is cramped even more with the store open now.  I had to park in the fire lane to weld.

Put on my earbuds and cranked up Chirgilchin....couldn't even hear the sirens as I was welding away.  [ouch]

Imagine my surprise when I lifted my hood and saw at least 8 cop cars from 3 cities parked around my truck...[noidea'

....and more arriving by the minute...man...they take their fire lanes seriously here eh?

So what happened?Surely they didn't give you a ticket.Wouldn't be surprised if they did. What's up with the ambulance and EMTs?Did you pop a cop in his pie hole for being an ........... [noidea'

glenn kangiser

Well Ben....turns out they weren't after me after all.

It seems a murder suspect stole a Chevy pickup and led them on a chase through several  cities. It was just a coincidence that he decided to get caught about 60 feet from my truck. [noidea'

I understand the police  cornered him there with guns drawn.  They removed an about 20" sawed off double barrelled shotgun from the truck. They said he also had multiple other counts against him.

I think they had called the EMTs in case there was a shootout.

I did manage to get the trash enclosure/ fire pump building completed after the excitement was over. [ouch]

Oh, by the way, the police all behaved very professionally even in this very dangerous situation.

Good cops.....I'd have been happy to buy a round of donuts for all of them. :)

I mean, you had SUCH a great anecdote going there, and some idiot with a shotgun blew it.

How's things ? I haven't followed your thread for (checks) 98 pages, and then this happens.

How many acres is chez Kangiser now ?

Steve

Glenn, were you you in the air when it all went down? That would have given you an areal view and hopefully kept you out of the danger zone,if lead started flying.

Windpower

Good

I was wondering if might have to get collection going for bail

There'd be no need for "bail",,,   they'd never take Glenn alive!!  c*
When in doubt , build it stout with something you know about .

I was to the right of my truck - helmet down... headphones blasting... welding the red iron frame on the trash enclosure building... didn't feel a thing, Ben... [waiting]

Steve, 60 acres (20+40) ......55 fenced for the cows with about 15 acres of the neighbors included.... rough guess around 2200sf in the underground command center.....

Here's my $0.02  [rofl2]  ... oh, you need more than that?   Well, I'd chip in, if I had some...  ;)

What I want to know is why your thread was locked...?   [frus]

Did the feds lock you down in case you spilled the beans or something? (Or referred to the perp as something other than "the alleged perpetrator?")

Redoverfarm

Glenn you didn't go mining at the Gem Museum in town did you? It hit the National news here on the other side that someone wanted to get some gold the easy/hard way by breaking into it ;).

Whitlock

Just found out about this today-
Can't find my phone have you seen it. [noidea'

I think he just has too much free time. Must be nice!
"Hey Y'all, watch this..."

MountainDon

I didn't realize they had that much there!  Glad we saw it when we did.

Wasn't me.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Redoverfarm

Nope not that much free time.  I get up at least 3 hrs before the West coast and try to catch the morning news to see if I should either try to get something done or dig a hole and bury my head in case the sky is falling. ;D

Hmmm ... My bad ... I didn't think anyone noticed.... [noidea'

I found it and unlocked it the other day......  [ouch]

You see... it's like this.  I have been posting quite a bit from my Samsung Note, and while it is quite a bit larger than a small cell phone, it is not real big.... size does matter I guess..... [shocked]

So I have these fingers about the size of billy clubs trying to move around the screen and type something... then I slide across the screen and accidentally hit the lock topic button and don't realize it.... yup....sorry dude.... I did it to myself.... [waiting]

Some of us Glenn are just as bull headed as others, about stuff like that.  Me I will take my chances above ground until the inevitable happens.  Figure then I will have more time resting under the ground.  Unless we are all turned into nuclear fly ash then will rest accordingly as well..........   :D
