Log wall question

I'm adding a large addition on the barn (house).

The whole thing is traditional pole barn/timberframe construction with poles every 12 feet.

I want to make log walls front and back but I'm not sure I can really stabilize them without being able to butt and pass the corners.

The side walls are also straw bale construction between the poles. They are already up.

Any ideas?

I'm no help at all on logs unless you want to cut 'em up or burn 'em.

Diagonal braces bottom to top hidden behind or set into the plaster?

The logs can be attached to each other vertically and to the posts, or notched to slide on angle iron (I've usesd 2x2x1/4) to secure them to the wall and to prevent buckling. Out of plane stability, the wind trying to blow the walls in, will have to be from some other element, just as in any wall.

Peter I have been thinking of your situation since your original post.  If it is not going to be structural then I would probably just stack them traditionally but where they intersect the post "mortise and lag" (from interior).  If it is just an asthetic that you are after you can either let them pass the corners (traditional A or V notch or 1/2 dovetail or just to the corner post and then follow-up with a verticle log to trim out the corners.  If you chink them with 1/4" rabbit wire there will probably be enough anchoring.  Make any sense
