Homegrown Tomatoes

Anyone ever see them for sale anywhere or know where I could find them?  My grandma used to can juice in them, but I don't ever see them for sale anywhere.  I would think they're not practical for a lot of people because of their canner not being tall enough, but anyway if you know where some can be had, I'd appreciate the info!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Grapes are getting ripe soon and was hoping to find some before it's time!  It just doesn't make sense for a family of five to can juice in itty bitty quart jars.

Yikes!  Goodman's was proud of those jars... that would kind of defeat one of the purposes of home canning!  Of course, if you used them every year for years and years to come, maybe it could be justified.  The second site was more reasonable.

My Grandmother used them to can pickles.  She would raise "straight eights" and they were too long for quart jars.  My mother still uses them for the same purpose. She also used to can home made soup.  Like you said a quart wouldn't even fill the void in a larger family.  Dill pickles is there any other kind. ;D

I was out running errands today and just for kicks I looked into some canning jars.

Found wide mouth quarts for $9 at Wally-world (cleaned them out) and one pkg. of 1/2 gallons at Bi-Mart for $10. Also scored 10 Pks. of wide mouth lids for $2 each. :)
