To much heavy machinery and rock and roll, but this seemed to improve mine.

Pox Eclipse

How long did you have to do it?  Mine sounds like a smoke detector going off, 24/7.

glenn kangiser

I did it the initial 50 or so times - It seemed like it made it quieter right away but... still there.  It said in bad cases do it several times per day.  I'll keep trying.

Possibly the fractured skull from all of the thumping made it seem quieter... [waiting]

...but -- yes still there

I just did it again -- possibly the banging makes it seem better when it stops but it does sound like there is a slight immediate improvement.   d*

Your description sounds much like mine - especially since the back window fell out of my Bobcat.  I am wearing 23 or so db ear plugs and about the same muffs on top of that and till it gets to me.  The fan on that thing is outrageous.  New window is on order.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- forever -- that's mine.

Glenn mine is more like 10,000 crickets chirping all at once.  Not toooooo noticable when there is other noise present but once it gets quiet it starts again. Tried what you posted but there didn't seem to be any relief. Now if someone can tell me how to deal with a stiff neck and shoulder I will be fit again.  ;D

Don_P

I just wake up to the whine of a jet engine outside of my window, assuming the stewardess is about to come around with a pack of those yummy peanuts, open my eyes and, darn, back to the salt mines  d*

glenn kangiser

Now I have bruises on the back of my head d*

Sounds like we all have it with us and ignore it most of the time.  Except Don... still looking for that stewardess.  [waiting]

Did it again - I get a slight definite improvement and and clearer hearing for a bit, but then Sassy starts assigning chores and the ringing - where I can hear next to nothing comes back.... heh

 rofl

Glenn my wife calls that selective hearing loss.

glenn kangiser

You must never flinch, Scott.

Look straight ahead and keep walking.   :o

Any movement showing that you may have heard or even thought you heard something, may trigger thoughts that you are uncaring and only concerned with your own interests..... [waiting]

You must never question the ringing in your ears...  [noidea'

Thanx for the tip Glenn, I worked around aircraft for many years and mine is so bad I can't go to sleep without the tv or radio on.  I'll let you know how it works for me.

What did you do around Aircraft, Helen?  I have been a pilot since 91 - haven't flown in the last 7 years as the plane got corrosion so AI finally scrapped it last year.

Think it's time to thump my head again. [waiting]

I don't have tinnitus, but I'm a little deaf at some pitches thanks to many years sitting in front of the drum line in band.  My middle daughter has this soft, high-pitched voice that I have the hardest time understanding from any distance and if she is not directly facing me so I can read her lips.  So, do you think head thumping will help? d*

Don_P

That should produce an audible response from her, repeat as often as neccessary  ;D

glenn kangiser

I would try it if I were you, Homey. :)

I worked on the ramp, loading/unloading, just a bag humper :) I used ear plugs but should have used ear muffs.. d*

glenn kangiser

Cool  - :)

A friend just told me that the muffs are better as hearing loss can also be generated in the area behind the ear - where the muffs also cover.

Shooting today - that didn't help a lot, but I did wear earplugs.  More thumping to be done. d*

glenn kangiser

Yes - I noticed it helped too - maybe enough will make it last longer or remove the rest of the hair from the back of my head.  [waiting]

There is a definite short term improvement for me though.  Twice I have been asked what I was doing to my neck - I guess the sound echoes through the ol' melon. d*
