You'd have to lose all of your monitoring devices, Ben... I dunno... How'd you survive without the computer, cell phone, isp number... gps... new digital devices like digital TV...digital camera w/gps.... Who knows how many other things... even your computer printer puts an identifiable code on all of your printouts in most cases....fido- he may be chipped too ....

You can only try, Ben... g/l... rofl

Ummmm .... Uhhhh .... Considerations, I don't like to brag on my mastery of some of the PNW foreign logger, contractor or trucker  languages, but lets just say I am rather proficient at it if need be.... [waiting]

My education shines brightly sometimes.... rofl

Big Ben.... watch out... that wind will blow your dress up.... (just a figure of speech, Ben... )  :)

Funny how every industry and trade has its own lingo.
How about railroad.  At the end of your trip and you are coming in to town you get these instructions.  'Need you to pull up out front.  Drop your shorts and then back Short Three and fill your rear end with everything there in there.  Pull back on the main and Carman will hang Fred.'  [shocked]
Proverbs 24:3-5 Through wisdom is an house builded; an by understanding it is established.  4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.  5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

glenn kangiser

Yeah, Rick....

I want that bolt T-I-T (spell it) tight.....

The erection crew put the steel up in the above pictures.   :o

Toss me the stinger so I can tack this up.... that deck is burning away?... beat the $*?!#&k out of it with your hammer and it will be close enough to the beam to weld.....

If the holes don't line up properly it is common to jamb a bull prick in them and force them into place.... and that is just the clean stuff.....[waiting]

I loved to go into the hardware store and ask for 1/2 inch nipples.... [ouch]

.....as in...  " Ummm .....Ohh...uhhhhh excuse me, but do you have......... ?"

The real surprise was when the little blonde gal laughed and said... "You're not going to shock me, I'm a pervert... "... I'm serious.... [shocked]

Windpower

"as I am scheduled to go to Vacaville prison soon"

sorry to hear that

I hope the sentence isn't too long  ;D
Often, our ignorance is not as great as our reluctance to act on what we know.

glenn kangiser

19 words as I count it, Windpower....... [ouch]

....no.... alas.... all is well.... I shouldn't be in there for much more than a week.

I think I should be able to handle it as long as Bro doesn't think I'm cute....... [waiting]

Ya know,I don't think it'd be that hard sometimes.Especially loosing that blasted phone that seems to follow me around every where I go.It ain't ever quite. It would be lonely without the interweb.I wouldn't have anyone to talk too.  d*

One of the many things I love about my property, no cell phone reception. I know it's only a matter of time before they build towers up there but for the time being it's great. I always say, if you need me while I'm gone....too bad.

glenn kangiser

It is a nice feeling to get to a place where reception is not possible...... almost like the Freedom of the old days.  :)

I know whay you mean, but devices have on-off switches too.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

glenn kangiser

Yup... I pack my monitor and whine... yup .... they can know where I'm at all of the time.....  For the monitoring the only thing I can do is remove the battery.  A phone, computer or electronic device on or off switch is really a standby and do whatever you are programmed to do when they think you are asleep switch.  Only Solution is to kill it completely.  That is some day if I have reason to be especially paranoid.... [waiting]

For the common - don't want to hear from anyone... the on/off switch will work.  :)

Reality says most of us have to work.  Most of us have to listen for that message most of the time.  For when we can't go ahead and turn off that on/off switch, the only solution is whining about it..... [ouch]

Yup,  the only worst thing than the phone ringing,,,,   is the phone NOT ringing!!  d*   c*

   Odd but true!

Sort of like know unknowns.  ???

DAMHIKT  d*
When in doubt , build it stout with something you know about .

glenn kangiser

You got it PEG..

When you are trapped into the system you need the phone to ring.. but if we had the total isolation that it seems we sometimes desire ...... the freedom from all responsibility and obligation... then I suppose we would again reach out in search of other life forms... to boldly go where no other... you get the picture, eh?  [waiting]  :)

As the economy gets worse it is time to start checking our resources....

Bossy cow may soon be giving milk.....

What if I have to take care of the grand-kids some day?  How would I handle it?  [noidea'

Well, this young Cambodian boy has solved the problem for me.... what a cool story

After his parents left for work, he had to stay with his grandpa.  He watched a calf getting dinner and decided that was not such a bad way to get it.....

Well, the ol' cow is good natured and she doesn't mind a bit....

Who could be better than Bossy at taking care of the kids?  Grandpa tried to stop him but he threw such a fit he let him go.

Grandpa is a bit worried about his 20 month old grandson, but he sure looks fine to me..... [waiting]

That puts a new spin on breast feeding.   :)  [slap]

glenn kangiser

No chance it will spoil and so much nicer than the dairies around here where the cows are knee deep in manure in the winter......

No bottling operation for the government to outlaw either ... completely cuts out the middleman.

I'll keep you abreast of any new info I get on this, Ben.  [waiting]

Just a time stamp note here......

The Bergey Wind Generator failed about two weeks ago....  Maybe 8 years and now I have to drop the pole and see what is wrong up there.....

I hope it doesn't fly apart before I get time to take it down as I don't have time right now to do it.... free wheeling with no load they go a million miles an hour....figuratively speaking..... [waiting]

I am guessing possibly the wire connections to the slip rings inside the pole at the top.... or maybe the slip ring brushes themselves....

Oh...the pain of it all........

Fire on the mountain - Friday night as I arrived home the next hillside was on fire in an area near the one that burned a couple years ago - actually including some of the old burn, but spring grass and brush returns fast enough around here to burn every year to an extent anyway.

Didn't take them too long to get it pretty well wrapped up in spite of steep hills and narrow roads.  Choppers are about 3 miles away by air on the other side of our house from the fire.  Always a good view from here and we hope we are not the feature one day.

Glad they got that fire under control. How do you think the UC would handle a wild fire?I know you take precautions and maintain your property to lessen the chances of fire reaching your house.

glenn kangiser

I think it would be good with a small amount of intervention, but very defensible as they say.

I have multiple roads and fire breaks around nearly all of it and we are only half the distance to the airport.  If I was home then I would make a quick trip around everything once more with the Bobcat to clear grass right to the dirt.

I made the cow paths and corrals to keep grass down to dirt on the other side also.  Seems there is always a bit more that could be done, especially if I am gone working away all of the summer as this year.

Picked up this little jewel tonight.

Saw it in the classifieds yesterday after reading that the prison job I have coming up required only minimum tools to do the job, search in - search out etc.  My 99 Dodge needs some transmission work and is also rather loaded for going through inspections.  My big truck - a week to clean off and a week to put it back together.  [ouch]

We have been watching for another 4x4 that was reliable anyway so this fit the bill.  One of those that if you don't jump on it it will be gone... I have learned to jump fast when a deal shows up....besides I only had a few hours to get it lined up then it's back to the bay tomorrow.  Now it can be ready for tool transfer at the end of the week when I get back.

Previous owner was a nice young Sheriff from around here.  It was his wood truck and I think fun truck for the family, but the family grew to big for it so they got a new one.  Outside is a bit bumpy from the owner before him but the inside is like new.  Great for a 4x4 work truck to fit my needs.  New tires - new A/C- satellite radio....  4K  :)

Hope they don't do to much checking up on you , they may not let you out of prison , once they get you inside  heh

You got it, PEG.   :)

I already warned the company that if they check me out much they may not even let me work there..I'd make a good anti-political prisoner.....but what a rotten trick that would be if they would not let me out...... [noidea'

Thanks Ben.  I got to drive it home then had to go to work.  Even though the outside is a little rough, It feels like a new one when you are driving it... that's good enough for me.  :)
