Nice video Petenap. Saw the last shot of the buggy in Dayton. I was over there Thursday and saw Mr. and Mrs. Showalter. Looks like you have a great family.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

If you were at the lamp shop, it's the Shank Family Chuck. They are related to the Showalters though.
There's a long story about Barbara Shank. We go back 50 odd years and didn't recognize each other until Thursday ???

I picked up an Aladdin that was a wall mount from an old RR Coach car, a few more mantels and checked on quilts.

This was an odd Christmas. I had gotten used to not having kids getting up at 4:00 AM to see Santa but each one has their own family now and are developing their own traditions, so the normal Christmas breakfast was off this year.

Mom is gone now and we go back to see Dad. Our Daughter came over on Christmas Eve for dinner and we went to our Son's house on Christmas afternoon.

We'll be at the farm for New Years and then back on the 2nd so I can finish a Documentary.

It's just a big change for Jane and I. Another phase of our lives that's gone. :-\

Ok. Thanks. They are good people. I picked up a couple of mantles also. I have 4 operating lamps. The bases are pretty common around and can be found at estate sales and auctions with a few dings. I have one drape lamp, 2 nickel plated brass and one polished brass. The nickel plated brass ones are the older ones. The glass one is probably from the 30's or 40's. I think the brass one is newer, maybe even 1950's or so. I enjoy them when we have them lit. We loose power often and I can really light up the house with them. where is your farm located? I think John said he thought it was near the Farmville area?

It's past Farmville Chuck, about 12 miles from the NC border.

I have a bunch of them now including a new one I got as a gift a couple of years ago.

I picked up a brass base at a yard sale in the spring and asked them about the parts. They thought it was going to be expensive getting the exact parts for it so I'm going to convert it to LED. I only paid .50 for it.

The really nice thing about the Aladdin's is that in addition to lighting the house, they heat it.

Nice job onthe video Peter.  I still have problems viewing it from start to finish without it stopping briefly.  Probably just my server but I did manage to let  it completely load up and backed it up to watch it the correct way. d*

As far as the Christmas goes it usually comes down to a break in tradition in our eyes from what we have been used to but a new one starts to their own likeing.  Children grow up and Oh well we just get old.  ;D

Nice family video Peter. Great music too! I could hardly keep from jumping around with the kids.
None of us are as smart as all of us.
