"Whispering Pines" perhaps or if they are more verbose,
"Yammering Pines" or if you are hipper how about
"Rapping Pines"

or maybe just "Pinderosa"
The problem with foolproof devices is that they fail to take into account the ingenuity of fools

Shady Pines

This is genuis. On the show "Golden Girls" Dorothy kept threatening to send her mom back to Shady Pines. A running gag that you can take advantage of!

MaineRhino

I like Shady Pines!

Our family camp on a lake is called Tranquility Cottage.    ;D

How come so many of these names sound like good names for a cemetary?

John Raabe

The standard developer model of naming a project is to call it what you had to destroy in order to put it in.

ie: Whispering Pines, Shady Brook, etc.
None of us are as smart as all of us.

Is there a side of MountainDon we don't know about . . .

. . . said the focus was safety, not filling town coffers with permit money . . .

i wish we were up north

We had the same problem and were stuck on the Pine something something because our property is covered in them.  We're still thinking on it so it will be "the land" for a long time yet I think!

How about Piney Wood Home (there's an old folk song by that title) or Pinewood Home.

MountainDon

A last comment before the final judging.

"Simple is better than complex"

I learned that from a computer language teacher many years (and languages) ago.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Redoverfarm

I have to agree Don that is why I just keep "Dogtrot" or "Dogtrot at Hightop".  It is sort of the style but I doubt the founding fathers will object.

ScottA

Lets just call it Mt. Don.

Redoverfarm

Scott I don't recall seeing a name for your either.

Redoverfarm

I am used to seeing it with the rest of the title that I didn't pick the name out.  Sort of like " Can't see the forrest for the trees"

Deer Run- 16x26 in Oklahoma

poppy

OK Don, I get it; KISS.

Pinewood

RainDog

Poppy's got my vote.

KISS is a great name.

......meanwhile, outside Pinewood Don's Precariously Perched Perpetual Pagoda of Precisely Positioned Pieces of Parallel Petrified Ponderosa Pine Planking, the entire CountryPlans forum nervously whistles the theme from 'Jeopardy' while awaiting the final judging.

Sorry for the delay in posting the winner. My thoughts were diverted by a personal issue.

We have a winner! A Two simple word winner.

Stinkerbell had an early favorite in Pinewood Acres (is the place to be...) but sadly it did not make the final cut.

Harry51, Whitlock, sgleaton and rwanders all had one of the words that rang our chimes.

However, rwanders was the only entry to coin the perfect pair; Pine Ridge.

So, RW go have a look at the selection of El Pinto 16 ounce Salsas and green chilis HERE, choose one of the Thomas brothers tasty products and PM or email the delivery address. Make that a FedEx deliverable address, no PO Box please.

A note: I love the El Pinto salsa and their green chili sauce; the green chili sauce is not a puree like some, they contain recognizable diced tomato,  green chili and onions. I've never tried the red chili sauce, (I think it is less chunky, more sauce like); I'm a green chili guy. I find the El Pinto products to be a little "warmer" than many other brands. El Pinto medium is a little bit hot for me, but very good all the same.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.
