I've been playing guitar for 9 years.. My dad plays and got me into it. Actually, I finally got my own guitar just a year or two ago.. An inexpensive solid-top Epiphone. My sibs and I have a bluegrass band (inspired by the Darlings from the Andy Griffith Show). I also enjoy playing a variety of other music...

If ya'll point me in the direction of wherever it is that these Geetars grow, I'll pick a few for ya.

I used to play a few chords and wail like a hog stuck under a fence -- nothing great though. [crz]

No guitar player but my 12YOA plays "claw hammer" banjo. Been playing for about 4 years now.  The following is at a  high school rodeo which WV Public Broadcasting was filming.  He had played at the State Capitol a couple years ago and conversation led to his playing there. They asked him to play for them. Ended up they used him in the background music of these two videos. 1st one he leads it off and is pictured next to a fence. Second he finishes it off. Proud papa ;) Hope the sites make it. Yes he does play a little guitar and some blue grass as well but he mainly plays "old time" music.

Very nice! Banjo plucking is tricky, according to my sister. ;D

I have a banjo and have piddled with it off and on.  DH plays a little guitar.  DD wants to play fiddle and the other DD wants to play mandolin, so maybe one of these days we'll actually be able to play something recognizable.

After about 15 years or so, I have taken up the guitar once again since January.  My Epiphone got ruined in storage so I have a cheap Jasmine right now.  I forget...does the feeling in your fingertips ever come back while still playing guitar?

I have been playing guitar for about twenty years or since I was a teenager.  I have two acoustics, both sigmas which was a korean made version of a martin.  They both have excellent structural and vocal characteristics even if they were never "top of the line" when new.  I have had several others including an ovation 12 string and a very sweet gibson custom shop EC which I sold last year.  While I have picked up and played alot of electrics over the years I always sound very noisy to myself, I dont know what it is but an acoustic just feels right.  By noisy I mean string noise, poor palm mutes, dissonance, just noisy.

To be clear, I am not that good as far as guitar players go.  I play mostly old classic rock, some old country songs I grew up listening too, and alot of blues.  Mostly I just make music for myself and my kids to enjoy.

Enjoyed that, Red.  I used to volunteer every year to work the International High School Finals Rodeo... always had a lot of fun working there.

Been playing for 3-4 years now.  Have an Epiphone acoustic and an LP electric.
Watching One String Willy there reminded me that I started playing a 3 string strumstick.  boy those are fun!

I do tap my toes, play air guitar and air piano.  :) I also sing a lot.... when I'm alone.

I get jabbed, or worse, if K's around.  :-[ :-[

When I was in mid school I made the choir, but was told not to sing out loud. Just a space filler.. :-[
