Has anyone made their own sign, where you can change the lettering by putting in those flexible plastic letters? Someone was telling me about making one using outdoor plywood and attaching strips with slots cut so you could slip the letters in. I haven't been able to find a plan for one yet. Need one to advertise different properties for my business.
Help please

You can use a plywood back with T&G with the GROOVES facing horizonaly. Just far enough to slide the letters into.

Not lighted. If I decide to light, I can put solar spot lights. Thanks for the info. Just need to  get some kind of plan into my thick head. Does not want to compute today. d*

You could make a frame out of PT lumber.  Then use lexan or plexi to cover the frame.   Then find some aluminum "T" molding or make up some PT molding.  Space it according to you letter heigth.  Then after putting either the top or bottom sort of bend the letters outward and insert the opposite end.  They should be retained by the molding.  If you wanted it lighted then put a flourscent 2' or 4' in either the base or top.  You might want to frost the inside.  Just use white paint.  If you decide to light it the light will show through the frosted and the sign reveiling only the letters
