I have always loved my Dan Wesson. Even though I have other 44's, that the DW was special. After I got the BFR, the DW started gathering dust with the others though.

Lately I've gotten the itch for a new 45ACP. The economy being what it is, I was not going to buy another gun that I didn't need, so I decided to do some trading. The DW was the chosen trade gun.

I had been looking at the Springfield Governments like Don has. Also the XP but I had looked long and hard at the Taurus PT 24/7 Pro. I liked a lot of the features it had.
Larry has/had one and I think he felt the same as I did about the DW. He had always wanted a Wesson and even though he has a Super Blackhawk, another 44 would be good since he was a permanent resident in bear country.

So yesterday, we both walked away from a trade that we are happy with. He called tonight to tell me about his exploits with the DW. Good trades are scarse and since the Taurus is one of the guns I was having a ball with yesterday, I couldn't be happier.

NEW TOYS!!!! ;D

Cool Peter.

So let me get this straight.

You traded your Dear Wife for a gun? hmm

Maybe I didn't read that right.  d*

No....Dan Wesson, BUT had she seized the engine in her Motor bike a day earlier (See my parade post).....I'd have considered it. >:(

The Taurus PT 24/7 Pro looks like a nice one, Peter. I've always coveted a Dan Wesson too. Or a BFR.  :)
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Interesting gun Don. For instance, it is a single action auto unless you have a misfire. Then it switches to double action so all you need do is pull the trigger again. It fed everything including steel cases yesterday and is very accurate.

Points well and balances like it should. It's a fighting gun and won't see much time in the sticks, but it is comforting in the burbs.

Gotta love that lifetime (of the gun) warranty too.

Yes, which reminds me I must get my Titanium 45 Colt attended to... rough spot at one point (turning the cylinder in double action, only after it is warmed up... like after 15 or so rounds in quick succession, in warm weather.)   ???

Hi All,

Got another min on here and saw this thread on here. One of the other computers freed up so now no one is waiting. AWOSOME trade I have been after A Dan Wesson for over 20 years and now I finally have one I can promise I'll still have it the day I die. Shoots like a charm, and doesn't have the recoil of my super blackhawk nor is it as heavy. OOPs someones waiting again got to go.

Great trade thanks Peternap.

Larry :) :) :)
