the odd thing is the fed and treasury only have 11billion in gold, from the H4.1 released 2 days ago.  this is the federal reserve balance sheet. http://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/h41/Current/  Well, it shows 11billion with gold valued at 42.22 an ounce, using spot prices its closer to 225billion.  Still, they are gonna need a lot more.  They confiscated in the past during times of extreme trouble and I put nothing past them this go round.

Sassy and I have said the same thing. 

I posted on the Alaska gold forum that this could happen and they poo-pooed me as being a crazy for saying that the new media induced gold rush right now was planned so that all of the people they could get going, would go out and get gold so they could steal it. 

I saw this one coming.  I know politicians and government.  I am crazy.

i don't know, kinda looks like gold to me ironically enough, i do 24kt gold plating as a sideline/hobby.

Fancy equipment or home brew, Dan?  Maybe we could start a topic on it if you are willing to let out trade secrets.  I could plate some rocks and send them into the federal reserve -- oh wait, some of the elite have already done that - replaced the gold bars with plated lead.   OK - so I just made that one up.

no i'm serious glen, belt buckles, fishing lures, trim, badges and grill work on a mercedes 320 sl, olds bravado, cadillac(made the newsapapers), bicycle parts, motorcycle parts, glasses, silver dollars,guitar parts, etc. i used to gold plate dimes and glue them to my business cards until it got too expensive. i don't do it much now as people around here would rather eat than gold plate something. i have photos.
