Maybe when Don wakes up in the west he will shed some light.

Yes a spider is a webcrawler.

I was wondering if anyone would notice the change in the user online display.  ???

Spiders have always been here. We're talking about friendly spiders like Google, and the other search engines like MSN, Yahoo, Baidu, etc  Baidu? Chinese search engine. Why did this just show up for ya'll to see? I tweaked the setting last night so the spiders would show as a separate entry. Before this they were included in the guest total.

These spiders are indexing everything that is posted. Google must have an incredible number of spiders as they are always here it seems. Here's a screen shot of how many visits were made in one day, if you're curious, like me.

We can even tell what topics are being looked at.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn’t mean it is good design.
