When I built the barn, I had it planned in two phases.
That was 6 years ago and I decided if I don't do phase 2 this year, I may not be able to do it at all.

Soooo, tomorrow I'll order the materials for the GREAT ROOMS.

This is an addition to the front of the barn in a T shape. The first room is 20X40 and matches the barn size but is completely open with a 17 foot cathedral ceiling.

The T will be 20x20 with the same ceiling and again, open.

The T terminates with a front porch overlooking the river. My rocking chair goes there.

I have all the doors, windows outside siding and knotty pine interior paneling I sawed years ago. I just need the framing and trusses.

The T is getting a metal roof so I can hear the rain and I'm NOT looking forward to insulating it. That's the reason I didn't use metal in the first place. >

I have a boxwood heater for each room and a beautiful antique stove for the T that will go near the Paladin window looking out on the porch.

All on poles to keep it legal.

This is my last giant project.

Sounds like a grand adventure.  To that I raise my first cup of Joe this morning and proclaim, "Here, here and good luck!"

Photos and commentary I hope.....  Sounds as if you are biting it off yourself?

Yep. I built the first half alone and heaven forbid, I'll get this one up too. That's the beauty of Pole Barns. They can be done alone.

I've gotten the new water tank cleaned out now so I might as well put it in tomorrow.
I checked the relay I used in the dump circuit for the new battery bank and it's a little light so it gets replaced.
Those things and ordering materials should at up tomorrow.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.
