It is an interesting substance, but I doubt it will ever be a viable fuel.  Energy to refine those metals from ore is very high.  Also, they compare it to coal that it has twice the energy per weight.  Aluminum costs $1.00 per pound, coal cost $.03 per pound.

I don't know enough about this yet, but they are claiming that the aluminum can be reprocessed / renewed.  Not sure what the energy cost associated with that might be.  I have no aptitude at chemistry....

E=mc^2.  It takes the same amount of energy to reprocess that it can produce, if not more. General Relativity.  It would defy the general laws of the universe otherwise.  If it could be used as some type of battery for renewable sources, then it may have a future.

I think that is the goal... portable power.  Sounds like it also produces purified water as part of the process.  I'm going to try and find out more.
