Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

ID would be followed by licence. As everyone knows a licence costs money. Internet ID = tax

Think I'll stick with my little pile of insecure usernames and passwords rather than let the government stick their brand on my hide.

If we use electronics they know what we are doing and where we are all the time anyway.

You've got it.

Here is a story about all cell phone users at a post election demonstration being ratted out to gov. for being at the unauthorized protest..  Gov then called them in on their very same phones.  Belarus.

Same exact technology is in use here.  Look for it to be used on us soon.  They are already bragging about turning on gangsters microphones on their phones in secret then busting them with it.  Doesn't have to be gangsters only.  All phones now have the back doors built in.

HR 6304 passed overwhelmingly, with "aye" votes by some legislators who vowed to filibuster it, including a very prominent one.  Guess freedom and privacy isn't really all that important after all.

I guess that depends on whether you are a citizen or a politician.....  Not elaborating - I don't want to become a more urgent target.....

I try not to be to openly political. I am of the general opinion that all parties are out to screw us.  But I can't help but see the irony of this in relation to the tea party movement.  Most of the rhetoric was against big brother government, so they glommed on to the republican party and re-elected most of the same politicians back into congress.  Well, of those same republicans, only 1 voted against it, Rep. Timothy Johnson. The question is will Obama sign it into law?  Let's see how much of the government has been purchased by the telecom industry.

Well...I think it's a good law as are all laws passed by Congress. After all, we elect them because they're much smarter than we are.

I have to go now and get the paperwork so I can declare the $30.00 I got from shoveling snow last week, on my taxes. I wouldn't want to forget it.

I've been distracted today because I was around a lot of rough people with guns yesterday. I sure hope our beloved President closes that loophole soon.

Speaking of our great Commander in Chief, I heard that someone using my name and user ID had been calling him horrible things.
Hopefully, this new law will prevent that in the future.

??? :o :-\
These here is God's finest scupturings! And there ain't no laws for the brave ones! And there ain't no asylums for the crazy ones! And there ain't no churches, except for this right here!

Squirl, I think you have it nailed... [ouch]

Identity theft, Peter... I suspect someone is trying to get you into trouble..... [waiting]

I'll be glad when I get my chip implant so it will be impossible for some bad person to rip off my new ID.
