Sassy just sent me an article of major importance to law enforcement personnel.

have a cousin who is an OKC cop... we should have all known that's what he'd grow up to be.  Even as a kid, he'd save his allowance to bug a bag of powdered donuts!

Shocking footage out of Cedar Rapids Iowa shows cops and government employee "strike teams" breaking into houses of flood victims and threatening anyone who questions their actions in complete violation of the 4th amendment right that protects against unlawful search and seizure.

No warrant, no knock home invasions are being carried out on the flimsy pretext of "checking for structural damage" as cops harass and threaten with arrest people who refuse to have their homes ransacked by thugs in uniforms.

Cedar Rapids police chief Greg Graham promised residents over the weekend that "Law enforcement officers are not entering homes," and that firefighters would only enter homes through unlocked doors and windows yet the video clearly shows locked houses being broken in to

That's hard to belive in a place like Iowa. That part of the country is normaly more friendly to peoples rights. I guess the whole damn country is kaput.

I avoided starting this topic for a long time-- it was less about the donut consumption and more about this kind of stuff.

This is happening more and more and I figured we would get to discussing it soon.

I saw this on tv this week while I was out of town.  I was furious.  The guy on tv was saying that the government was responsible for ensuring the structural stability of these houses.  Where is that written down?  I have never heard that the govnmt is responsible for the safety of our houses.  To the point where they can point a gun at you and threaten to shoot someone in order to protect them from their own house.  What a load of crap - I'm still furious.

I know that in a real emergency I will not be leaving my house - regardless of the dangers in staying.

I guess the cops are lucky those people are peaceful. Try it in the Virginia Mountains and they'd be stacking Leo's up like cordwood.

There are places around here back in the hills where the police won't go after dark.
