Print great TOPO maps of your property or any location without a bunch of other clutter as Google has.  Just a nice plain TOPO.

Sems to start at the left edge of the viewed area on your browser.  Just grab it and drag it around with the mouse hand to print more areas.

Cool Glenn! Wouldn't it be nice to have (and be able to afford) mobile internet access?  But do you really trust a company with "acme" in the name... reminds of the Looney Tunes W.E.Coyote cartoons   :-/

there's also

and a reference at the USGS at

Beep Beep - What a good old reliable name -- ACME.

Looks like a cool collection of maps now.

My vote goes to the Coyote.  ;)

Acme did the best job of showing my property and it is much easier to navigate than Terra Server or others.

Too bad the map itself is at least 30 years out of date. It has old trails that have gone overgrown shown but not the roads that were put in in 1979.

Look what I found at ImageShack: (You customize the cartoon)

None of us are as smart as all of us.

That's not all bad though, John.  Many of the newer forestry and BLM maps have had interesting features such as old mines taken off of them.  Gotta protect us from ourselves, eh. :)

Right on Glenn. The FS, BLM, NPS only put on the maps what they want us to find. In our 4x4 club we have an member who's older than dirt and has a sizable Nm and UT collection of older out of date USGS maps. Sometimes there are interesting things to be found... and smetimes nothings there any more.

It was a real revelation last fall when the Santa Fe National Forest was beginning there new travel plan process. They had maps that showed every road that they knew about on display. (The process asking for comments as to what the users actually use and want to retain) There were way more routes shown than what I'd seen on any other readily available maps.

We're having fun today. :)

The old books I have now with maps show tons of unknown stuff.

Sent to me by our member Harry51 a conversion utility to convert TRS to Lat and Long.  Good for GPS location.

You can also click Hybrid and see the satellite  picture as well as roads.

Since I posted this I have also found NASA World Wind

http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/

which is like Google Earth but it loads a bunch of buttons at the top, and on one of them -- toward the tight about 2/3 of the way is a TOPO map in 3D with adjustable elevation exageration so you can see canyons etc.  It also has a feature where you can use the 3D glasses  like you get in movies etc -- red - blue to make real 3D.
