It still amazes me that just when I thought I saw everything on CountryPlans I find another set of info or links.  I clicked on the Tools section and in the 2nd section down there is a Missouri House Journal link with a very interesting story about a man in a wheel chair and his adventures in building a pole building cabin.  The link however ends at about page 25.  I found this link http://www.homestead.org/MissouriJournal/TheMissouriJournal.htm that has more of his story.  An Administrator might want to update that link to the new one.

Mark hung out here a lot -- haven't seen him for a bit though.  I think that's in the HTML area that I don't get into.

I'm glad there's a search function in the forum, but it isn't perfect.  I'm coming up against it as I put together a book of information from this site for building our house.  I wish it could be organized by topic somehow, but I know that would be time-consuming and difficult if not impossible.

There are three different searches -- I think the one on the blue bar above left is the best.

Mark Chenail was the 1st place winner of the 200 sf Design Contest. I have updated the page on his winning design and added a link to the Missouri Journal.

Thanks for the link and suggestion.

On Search... It isn't perfect! Far from it. >:(

For some reason Google doesn't seem to be able to search the postings in the SMF forum. The search built-in to that forum is not very good or friendly to use.

I've been searching for a way to get Google bots to index the forum but no luck so far.

Looks like the advanced search on Google will search within the forum but I don't know how up to date it is -- just tried it.

Put      http://countryplans.com/smf/index.php  into the url search line and fill in the topic line at the top.

Thanks for that tip Glenn.

I used it to update the main search box and included the SMF limiter in the lower search section. There may be yet a better way as this is not finding the very latest posts. But it is better than what we had before.

Using this might also get Google to crawl the forum pages more often.

Give it a try and see if that helps.

Looks like it worked pretty well -- maybe not everything has been crawled but most of it came up.
