Hedgebrook cottages

Has anyone ever done an article or photo essay on the cottages at the Hedgebrook retreat in Washington?  Not an article about the program, but about the cottages themselves.  They look like wonderful little houses.

I've not heard of them - where are they located?

Also, have a look at "Alber's Bunkhouse" on the pictues page on this site - a very clear set of photos of building a 10'x10' bunk house - in only 4 days by 2 guys!! That's fully complete exterior, not just "weathered out!" $3,000 in new and scrap material in spring, 2004.

Hedgebrook is a writing community for women writers on Whidbey Island.  I just checked and they have re-vamped their web site and you can't see any of their cottages, well one tiny picture of the front of one....   Writers compete for time at the retreat, free of charge, and stay in one of the cottages.  They were adorable and whimsical, and seemed to have been something you could adapt either the Builder's Cottage or 20 x 30 plan to accommodate.  If you want to look at the one tiny picture, or check out their program (and be John's neighbor temporarily) it's www.hedgebrook.org

I couldn't find pictures on the site when I looked a day or so ago.

But they sound like they might be very much like those old camp-meeting places that the book Tiny Houses (not the web-site) looked at so lovingly.

Close but no cigar....  The tinyhouses site is a little closer.  What I could see of the cottages on the prior web site they looked more like a tudor / storybook style with chimneys, exterior shingles, etc.  I noticed on the new web site they're asking for alumni to send them photos, so perhaps the cottages will show up then...
