U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade



WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto.



The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.



On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States . The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.



The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.



This is not a joke nor a false warning. As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary,  so will gun control.

Devil Dog, both you and I served in the Corps in order to allow our civilian brethren the right to keep and bear arms, but I believe that the "Progressives" intend to back door either this, or similar legislation in order to more fully erode our Second Amendment rights. Society has stood by (some, anyway) and allowed the nanny state to flourish. Who would have thought, just twenty years ago, that today we would be mandated to wear seat belts, our kids would have to wear helmets to ride a bike, certain "fatty" foods would be banned, we would be mandated to buy health insurance, cigarettes would be banned from private homes, etc......... Our rights are not taken away all at once, rather we are like the frog boiled in "Progressively" warmer water.

Yep, I agree 100% with that Woodsrule.
These are going to be tricky times for gun owners and activists. There are several demonstrations coming up. One is the DC March. I won't go to that. If I can't wear my gun, I'm not going.
The Va March is on the 15th at the Capitol. I'll be there gun and all.
There is one being organized on the 13th I think. The organizers are militia and talk loud. I won't be there either. It's time for real action, not tough talk.

How gunowners say it is important

Current events are interesting. They also always seem to have happened before. I seem to be having a flashback to the 70's right now



Every thinking American knows the country is in trouble. We know the Government is corrupt. We know the health plan is dangerous and unamerican. We know Obama's an ass. We know we must change it.......but how we do it and what we say is extremely important.

Recently, the Government has gone on witch hunts and arrested people for threats and plots. This is normal. Whenever an administration gets in trouble, they start flexing their muscles and they do have muscle.

Fortunately, we as gunowners and every American has a secret weapon. It's called a vote. The battle plan should be to throw the Bastards out, not get ourselves locked up for shooting our mouths off.

In these days when our Government is poised to jail or kill anyone that disagrees with them. What we say and how we say it is extremely important. It's time to join together, register to vote, actually go to the polls and THROW THE BASTARDS OUT !

I think the date line on that was last October.... I don't believe that has been furthered along (yet).  It is best to be vigilant, and yes!!!!! Vote the bastards out of office.  The largest problem is that the existing set of elected officials are not listening to the majority of Americans, and are pushing their own, spoon fed left agenda.  They are pandering to the far left and need to be tossed out on their butts. 

I really, really, hope that the independent voters remember what a crap pile this group has been.  Unfortunately, we all seem to have very short memories.  I remember in the days after 9/11 you could not swing a cat without hitting an American flag.  That lasted all of about a month.

The only way to truly change our government is to replace EVERY elected politician, all staff members, SCOTUS, all petty bureaucrats, and break the corporate/public revolving door for advisors and cabinet members. Only then could we begin to return to the constitutional republic the founders envisioned.
