I got the first step to building a 1 1/2 story addition to our camp complete. I took the Kubota up and dug 14 holes for the piers. They are done approximately 36" to 40". I made 14 square footers 16x16x7, pour concrete in with 2 pieces of rebar coming up into the builders tube. I set all the piers and back filled them and they are all marked off and level.  Now I just have to get some time to pour the piers. Next time I get up to camp I'll take some pictures. I forgot the camera this past weekend.

Sounds like a good start.  Are you putting anchor bolts in the peirs? :-?

Yes. I will be using some type of anchor. Just haven't decided which one yet.

I got the piers poured this past weekend. Took 51 60lb bags of concrete. Not too bad. I'll post pictures as soon as I get them on the computer. Can anyone tell me how to post the pictures? Thanks Pete

Open an account at //photobucket.com

Upload your photos to there. You can make different folders for different topics/subjects. Try the "new, quicker and easier" uploads beta.

Once the images are uploaded you will see 4 different Tags under each image.

Click on the bottom one... the IMG CODE tag  . That will copy the tag. If you have a problem, highlight and copy.

Go to the topic in countryplans and paste intto your message where you want the image to appear.

Repeat for subsequent images. You can add text in between images.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Here are 2 pictures from pouring the piers. The one picture has the camp in the back ground and the 14 piers for the 1 1/2 story 20x30 addition. Also my 2 little helpers are in the back ground. The other picture is looking down one of the 14 piers. More to come.

That will be great.  It gives you an easy place to point your friends to also -- your own little project web page. :)

I spread the BS and try to keep things rolling -- thanks to all the rest - PEG, John and all the others who share their suggestions and help.

Note that that is exactly what we do here - share suggestions and ideas.  All help is voluntary and no one will guarantee anything but we do all share information that will help educate other members to make an informed decision of their own.

Now that is very encouraging.  Nice to know we actually have an impact on peoples lives.  Kind of makes the hours spent worthwhile.  Thanks.
