I am trying to post pics but I hav'nt figured out how yet. We bought 30 acres last year and asked many questions about ideas for building on it debt free. We kicked around buying a shed, travel trailer, cheap mobile home. Finally after lots of asking around we decided on a weld together metal building kit. Well we broke ground on November of last year. My wife and I leveled the pad using sand by hand, built the forms tyed rebar and laid the plumbing. Then we paid to have the concrete poured and smoothed, (a wise investment). We took delivery of a pile of metal and started welding with a 110 wire feed welder. Using a sketched out plans we drew ourselves, we framed out a 2 bedroom 1 bath house. Covered it in metal, used doors, and windows from Craigslist then moved in during the one of the biggest snowstorms in Oklahoma history. Actually we got stranded in the house that night it hit while working on it. We had a bed in the bedroom and a wood stove. So we stayed the night, and then the next and the next, well we have never left.  We have about $15,000 in it, all paid in cash, our greatest one time expenditure was the cost of the building kit which was $3600 that we paid for with last years income tax return. Thanks to this website for giving us the courage to do it ourselves.
