Attach Deck boards so that the Screws don't show on top

 A Friend is building a deck and doesn't want the screws to show. The are a lot of clips and stuff out there (Tiger Claw on of them) What is the best ? way to do this. They are using Treated Wood for the stringers and the Decking.

I used a product that looked like an angle iron bent to around 60 degrees that you first screwed to the stringer.  Then you get under the deck and screw into the decking.  As the screw tightens, it pulls down the board.  It makes a very nice looking deck, but adds considerable labor and cost.  Fortunately, I used a barn-raising event where I had friends come over and help me.  Definately worth it for cedar as it makes a premium look.  Seems like a lot of expense when you are starting out with pressure treated wood.  Remeber to use Stainless or galvanized with pressure treated wood.

thats hardcore to be that picky over a deck. Howabout some wood filler.

the one good thing about seeing the screws is that you can easily replace boards and tighten screws as needed.

Most of them require a groove or a biscuit jointer to cut slots.  Lots more out there , keep looking till you find one you like.
