  A similiar event happened to me in Dec 2000. I had just purchased a brand new Taylor 414 in LA.

It got lost en route to Chicago. To make a long story short....the only damage was to the hardshell case;

the guitar was spared by the tough vinyl, a layer of styrofoam, and a thin layer of felt.

As a side note, I flew to Colombus, Oh last week. United........they lost all my luggage.

Sparks I watched that just before you posted.  This is only one video of three to be made.  Hope he holds true to his word.  He should post a web address of United to let people know that they watched his video and are disappointed with their responsibility.  :(

You gotta be nuts to get on one of those flying POW camps.

A guy sitting at an airport bar in Atlanta noticed a beautiful woman sitting next to him.

He thought to himself, "Wow, she's gorgeous! And I think she's a flight attendant...but which airline does she work for?"

Hoping to pick her up, he leaned towards her and uttered the Delta slogan, "Love to fly and it shows?"

She gave him a blank, confused stare and he immediately thought to himself, "Hmm, no, she doesn't work for Delta."

A moment later, another slogan popped into his head. He leaned towards her again; "Something special in the air?"

She gave him the same confused look. He mentally kicked himself, and scratched American Airlines off the list. Next he tried the Southwest slogan, "You are now free to move about the country"

This time the woman looked at him, irritated, and screamed "What the $%k! do you want?!"

The man slumped back in his chair, and said: "Ahh, United, I should have known..."

Often, our ignorance is not as great as our reluctance to act on what we know.

We perform all over the country with three irreplaceable lutes.  We drive, or we take the train, and if we can't get there by car or by train, we don't take the gig.  Not negotiable.  A friend of ours had a $25,000 lute that looked a lot like Dave Carroll's guitar when he arrived in Amsterdam.
