Some pictures of a walk we took in one of the many National Battlefields.
First, I finally found one of the firepits with the hood. I'm putting this in the barn. I doubt I'll make out of copper though.

These are some of the cannons we ran the yankees off with. ::)

Zeus reads a monument to Jane ::)

Zeus keeps a watchful eye out for the enemy

These here is God's finest scupturings! And there ain't no laws for the brave ones! And there ain't no asylums for the crazy ones! And there ain't no churches, except for this right here!

Nice firepit hood/stacks. That's exactly what I was thinking of way back when you queried for ideas.
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Peter I think copper is on the way down.  Might be able to construct it with copper in a couple of years. ;D

A bad day of fishing beats a good day at work any day, but building something with your own hands beats anything.

I like the fire pit.  The copper looks nice, but I can see where it might be cost prohibitive.  Few years back when we were looking for copper ceiling tiles when we did our kitchen, they cost about $16 EACH!  We decided really quickly to go with shiny silver tin!

"Just as long as Zues isn't laying any new ones..."

Too true!  You ever seen the size of the stuff that comes out of those dogs!
just spent a few days building a website, and didn't know that it could be so physically taxing to sit and do nothing all day!

Wow, Zeus is getting big!  He looks so much like the Great Dane, Hoss, I had & I can attest to the size of mines he laid  :o

I like that fireplace too!   8)
