I'm glad to see them get some sun.  They have had terrible weather.  Very cold, very windy, a lot of rain, resulting in too many close encounters of the pavement kind.  Race leader Levi Leipheimer has hit the deck twice and Lance has fallen two or three times including being taken out by the team photographer's motorcycle. 20% or so of the field has withdrawn, some to the hospital.

The time trial today in Solvang will decide the race. I hope they get decent weather for it.

I live in on the NE end of Fresno, right next to Clovis.  I got to watch them ride through at the end of the fourth stage. It was a great experience.   Especially since I enjoy cycling.  I commute on a road bike.

Concerning the spandex...

I was on a swim team and I have a pair of Lycra shorts and Jersey for cycling.  It's not as bad as most people think...

Was that Drew in that bunch.  Maybe not as he is probably busy on the Straw Bale Lodge.

I can't imagine a long ride let alone race without them. The seams in regular shorts raise welts like a bullwhip.

My son raced with the Signet Team for about 5 years. When he started, he was 12 and needed to ride 20 miles a day and I wouldn't let ride alone....so I started riding, and learned to build wheels and bike mechanics....and to wear Lycra :-[

There is a time and a place for darn near everything.   :D
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

I can't believe you didn't show up and show em how to wear the spandex Glenn!
just spent a few days building a website, and didn't know that it could be so physically taxing to sit and do nothing all day!

I understand it was a nice warm day with the smell of sweaty bicycle seats permeating the air, but --- I had to work.... [waiting]

I'm trying to get back into cycling.  Did 8 miles today which isn't much but nice to be able to complete it at a high cadence.  Plus it was on the mountain bike with a lot of drag from the tires.

Going to get the road bike back in action next week.  I'd like to be able to do the bike ride across GA again (BRAG)

A friend of mine bicycled from Florida to Washington, then back again.  Not for me, but sounds like fun just the same.  What I wanna know is, does it count if you have a bike in the car with you?

I think Spandex is fine, as long as it is not used in any clothing over a size 12.  [yuk]
