I went to Camp Hanover today to take some pictures and look at the framing on the old place. Beautiful...



On the way out, I ran across this fellow hunting with his Red Tailed Falcon. I had to watch while the thing grabbed squirrels and brought them back. Wish I could teach Zeus to do that. ;D

I had never actually seen anyone working a Hawk. Great afternoon

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

He can already fly, I just wish he would catch something other than me.

This is something which is very intriguing to me.  I think hawk's are amazing and that it's is so awesome that people get to be so close to them and train them. 

Do the hawk's attach to their owners, and therefore fly back to you naturally...or do you have to train them to do that?

I had a baby barn owl I raised but would let free.  It came back for a while when I would whistle but eventually it went off with other owls.

They are beautiful birds if they are kept in check.  Here we have an over abundance of red tailed hawks.  There main food in this area is rabbits & squirls.  In the last several years the rabbit & squirl population has decreased while the hawk has increased. Go figure?  :(
