I found 26 ft of stainless chimney on craigslist for a good price.  I just assumed that it was double walled sections, but I found out it is actually the flex type.  Is anyone aware of drawbacks to this style, and should I not use it?  About half the cost, or maybe less, that it will cost me for rigid.  The fireplace probably won't see more than 4 months of use per year, in the coldest winters.  Thanks.
just spent a few days building a website, and didn't know that it could be so physically taxing to sit and do nothing all day!

I never heard of flex chimeny pipe. Whatever it is make sure you can pull a brush through it so it can be cleaned.

That sounds like it might be liner, which is what you need for running through an existing brick chimney flue. Nor sure, but it sounds like that may be it.   ???
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

it is a liner, yes.  It will be going inside my old chimney.  My questions are about its suitability for using first as a fireplace, then with a woodstove.  I need to inspect the thing to make sure it isn't damaged.  Maybe I'll call Elmer's and ask them some questions too.  Thanks.
