I mentioned my friend with cancer, the other day.

I got this email today:

Dr. says that the cancer is confined to esophagus with some activity in nodes closest to cancer. He wants to begin radiation and chemo before any operation. I am in favor of removing tumor first then zap with chemo. I am waiting on an opinion from another

Since I always wonder how much my colorful past has diminished my clout, I could use a few extra prayers for him!
Thanks!
These here is God's finest scupturings! And there ain't no laws for the brave ones! And there ain't no asylums for the crazy ones! And there ain't no churches, except for this right here!

My brother in-law got the same kind of cancer but was misdiagnosed for over a year and had to have several surgeries to try to remove it all. It was in the lymph nodes and his "voice box".
He was at The City of Hope in Duarte and they did every type of cure they could because he was only 30 when he got it and made it to 49 before he passed away, But a little disclaimer is that he lived in bars and went even more AFTER the treatments! So it was hard to tell if it was cancer or just inevitable!?!? :-\ Had he listened to his doctors a little more he may have still been around [noidea'.
Tell your friend that while prayer is good HIS attitude could be the biggest difference in his outcome, Ya gotta keep his spirits up at ALL times because even a little depression can make him week.
I cut it three times and it's still too short.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Sorry to hear of your friend Peter.  My daughter wrote me the other day and told me she has been treating a friend of mine at the other end of the state that I went to school with.  She is a Physical Therapist and he has had throat cancer twice.  Says he is doing OK now. They have made a lot of breakthrough procedures since the old style of taking everything.  Hopefully he can get some top notch treatment and pull through OK.
