;D  My kids would want to pet him... after all, he looks so 'cute'.  They're fascinated with the grizzly at the zoo... we could sit there for half an hour just watching him. That's pretty good for a 3 and 5 year old.

I'll bet that bear would like a snack.

Peter,

I think everything out there grows BIG. I ran into a raccoon Sat. night biggest fattest coon I have ever seen. Joker must have been 20 plus pounds. How big(lbs) would you estimate that bear. Looks to me like 400+ but I have a hard time telling with photos.

Those new cameras are great.

It is hard to tell from pictures Larry, but judging from the tracks, I'd be surprised if it was any less than 450.

Need a stealth game scale..   ???
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

This is Honey, a 555 pound black bear from a Minnesota bear park

This is her black bear male friend, Ted. 860 pounds, maybe more at time of picture.

WOW thats one BIG bear. They both are. I think I'd panic seeing something that big up close.

It's better to have tried and failed then to have never tried at all!!!!!!!!

Just read some game report in WV and the average black bear in WV is between 150-400#. Some exceptions have made it to 600# but are rare.  They estimate there are about 9,000-10,000 in the state. I think we had about 40 killed in the county this past season.
