Shed VS Gable Dormers?

Comparison of dormer types regarding:

1.  Cost/materials
2.  Snow load
3.  With metal roofing
4.  Difficulty to build
5.  Leakage

Just my opinion, but here it goes: 

1.  Cost/materials would be fairly close

2.  Snow load would be similar as well, really depends on the width of the dormer.

3.  Metal roof would work or look fine on both

4.  As far as difficulty, I had a friend build the 1st gable dormer for me and then I just copied the one on the other side.  Not too difficult.  I would thing the shed dormer would be simpler

5.  Leakage woul have a slightly increased risk for the gabled dormer, but when properly built should not be an issue.

Just a personal choice, I like the look of two gabled dormers on the front.  That is what I did on mine.  If you want to go with a shed dormer, I like the look of just one in the center.  Again, just my opinion!
