Just as I always thought.... tankers are perfectly safe until the front falls off!   :)
Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Yep they are safe even if the front falls off if they didn't have the oil in them. And if a toad had wings he wouldn't bump his butt.
