I remember when that other job offer fell through  :(  Now look - you'll be moving in 3 days!   :)  See, you needed that little extra time to finish up the house  ;)  It all works out for the good...

I had my 5 y/o granddaughter overnite - she just loves to be outside - she was upset when her parents came to pick her up - she has the 4 dogs to play with & the grass is all growing - nice & green - hasn't rained for a few days so not muddy - supposed to rain the rest of the week though...  she got to ride with Grandpa on the Bushhog... I can just see your little daughter saying ""I want to move last week!!!"...  :D

Well, got  a LOT done today... friends came and painted the whole basement and I got all the paint touch-ups done on the first floor.  Unfortunately, I face planted on the ice in the back yard.  I think the baby is alright, but it was the worst way to fall... third time I've fallen on the ice this year, and I was being as cautious as I could be.  I had the tea kettle in front of me, so it kept my belly from hitting first (thank goodness) and lessened the impact on my belly.  My right shoulder hit the teakettle.  It was so fast I didn't even get my hands out to stop my fall.  (I'd used the hot water in the kettle to thaw the dog's water when I took him out... it was bitterly cold again today... thankfully, I'd used ALL the water in the kettle and didn't get burned to boot with the fall!)  Don't they have a clumsy smiley??? d*  Thankfully, my big dog was with me, too, and he came and stood by me so that I could hold on to him to stand up (there was nothing else to hold on to and the ice was as slick as snot.)  Too bad the sidewalk wasn't covered in snow... would've been a softer landing, for sure.  At least the ice wasn't as wet as falling in the snow.  Argh.  Got to get out of here... winter is determined to kill me.

Baby's still moving fine and waking and sleeping in its normal cycles, so I'm pretty sure it's OK... Still kind of scary, though.  I'm not exactly graceful when I'm not pregnant (I'm the person who broke her hand just walking through the house last June, and then the ER staff all came in individually to interrogate me about it because they thought it sounded like a made-up story... they were all giving Lyon the "look" like he was somehow responsible for my clumsiness) let alone when my belly is sticking out and throwing me off balance.  :)

Here we are just a few days away from moving and DH comes home from work yesterday and curls up on the couch in the fetal position and falls asleep.  He slept until I got dinner ready, got up and ate a little without talking much, and then went back to the couch and slept until I had the kids ready for bed.  He woke up long enough to help me get them to bed and then he crawled into bed himself and was out.  All night long he was tossing and turning, even after taking some Nyquil.  He slept from 8:00 last night until 8:00 this morning, and then went in really late, feeling terrible.  He has NEVER called in sick for anything... in all the years I've known him... and he sure didn't want to do it today when he only has one more day to work because it would look really bad.   He's been preaching at me and the kids not to stress our and not to get sick right before the move, and then what does he go and do?! n* n* [noidea'  Talk about terrible timing to get sick.  I sent him to work with zicam and some venison stew that also has kimchee in it (according to a bunch of Korean research, kimchee is supposed to cure just about everything from hair loss to heart attacks, so I guess it can't hurt to try.)  Meanwhile, I'll try to get the rest of the work done on the house that needs to be done.   :-\  I am really ready to just throw in the towel and say what you see is what you get with this house... I don't care if we do another single thing to it at this point.  I am just ready to move!

Why does it always have to happen that way  ???  Hopefully you are getting enough rest, HG...  soon the move will be over - you'll be settled into your new house, then you'll have your baby...  hmmm, it doesn't end, does it?  Well, didn't someone once say "it's the journey, not the destination that's important"?  Anyways, you always have a lot of good stories to tell to keep us entertained, if nothing else  :D ;)   c*  Just take care of yourself in the process!

BTW, I'm known to take a fall or 2 on a regular basis  ::) :-[

Homegrown, I'm relieved to hear that you feel the baby is ok after your fall.  That must have really been worrisome.
Meanwhile, please be careful, and take care of your family.  You certainly have your hands full.
I wish you all the best.

Thanks, all.  At least there's not a lot of stress involved... we're excited to be moving and know that one way or the other it's happening within the next few days, so no point in getting stressed about it.  It is poor timing for DH to get sick, but hopefully the worst of it will be past before the weekend's over.  I'm also not going to worry about the house here anymore.  The realtor is coming this evening to list it, and I'll be happy to hand it over to her while we're gone.  If the company wasn't paying the realtor and the movers, etc., it would probably be a lot more to worry about.  For me, the biggest thing is being impatient about it, and trying not to kill myself on the ice in the mean time... got to take the dog out, and it is almost up to 30 degrees today (it wasn't supposed to be, but it is!)  Need a pair of cleats or something, I guess, but not sure it would do much good.  It is supposed to get up above freezing on Sunday, so hopefully we can get out and chop the rest of the ice off the sidewalks.  The stores were out of the ice-melt stuff, so I'm thinking of taking my box of pickling salt out and sprinkling it around to see if it'd do the trick... it probably couldn't hurt too much, anyway, and it's be one less thing to carry on the move.  Just ready to be on the road toward the sunshine!!!!  Day after tomorrow is packing day, and then one day of rest before we load up and go!

Well, DH had a 103 degree fever yesterday and was absolutely miserable.  I slept downstairs  on the couch because the last thing we need is for both of us to get sick.  His fever broke during the night, and he's feeling a lot better this morning.  He felt like eating breakfast which was a good sign.  He went into work but is planning on taking half a day of vacation so that he can go to the doctor and the tax appointment with me.  The movers called me last night and are now planning on loading us Sunday instead of Monday!  As if we needed more of a time crunch!  But, on the up side, we'll get out before the weather gets bad again on Tuesday.  Got a lot to get done this morning!
