I thought I was set on using Simpson EPB66's to mount my "built up" girders from 2x12's, but while digging this weekend I was thinking that perhaps an anchor bolt design, or some other design would be better...any thoughts as to what is the best system for concrete poured tube post foundations?
Thanks in advance!

I'm planning on using J bolts set into my sonotube peirs and L shaped brackets bolted to the beam.  The brackets were cheap, only $2.50 a piece at Menards.

Here is the thread I posted a while back.  Feedback from the folks in the know around here was that the set up would work fine.  [cool]

(scroll down a little to get the connector stuff)

Check into the CB series, CB66:

Bigger is better , what dia. sono tube will you be using?

And yes you should pour that flat plate right down on the cement, like this:

Yes they are column bases but they will resist up lift as well.

What I don't like about the EP series is that spindly / small center post.

G/L PEG

When in doubt , build it stout with something you know about .

Thanks PEG.  This is just a 12x16 cabin, but I am planning on using 6 footings with Big Foot BF24 footers and 10" sonotubes.  Frost depth is 24", but I'm setting them at 36" (already dug them up this weekend).  Will drop 3-4 #5 rebar, and 5000 quickrete.  Will go find me some of the CB66's...much appreciated!  At 7 gauge, they look beefier and more stable than the EPB66's.

The posts in the center of your sides are gonna be supporting 1/4 of the cabin, with the corner posts holding up 1/8 each.  That's 48 sq ft of floor area per center post.  With 40psf live, 10psf dead on the floor, 20psf live and 10psf dead on the roof (assuming no snow load), that's 80 psf.  So 48x80, almost 4000lb per post.  According to http://www.strongtie.com/products/connectors/epb.asp, the EPB66's can handle a downforce of 3465lb so they'd be underrated.  This concentrated load is why you need to have something sitting on the concrete - it's enough to buckle most thin metal hardware or vertical bolts.

I'd trust PEGs experience over my math any day, but fortunately they're both saying the same thing!

VERY good points...maybe I should also think about adding two more footers/posts...
