Hi,
The name's Darrin.  New to this board, but have found it very helpful so far.  Within the next year or so the wife and I are looking to buy about 10 acres here in Indiana to build our own house on.  Just wondering if anyone knows of any owner/builder restrictions in Indiana.  I think there are some states that don't allow folks to build their own homes without a contractors license.

You will have to talk to the county sooner or later.  Why not go ahead and get the straight skinny up front.

Oh, by the way, welcome to the forum.

At the worst you may have to have one sign for you to get a bank loan but it is your right to build your own home -- even if you have to fight for it.

Thank you.  Think I'll just go ahead and start talking to the building dept. in the counties we're interested in buying land in.
