I don't know how my wife manages it. A few months ago, someone in Germany was using her Amex to buy Rock Concert T Shirts. Amex corrected the bill. Then another charge showed up in the US so they corrected the charged and changed her number.

Today I looked over her bill and there was a charge for 121.00 from Movies Unlimited.
I called and they checked the transaction number. A fellow named Clark in Michigan had bought the full series of Harry Potter using her card.

How do they get that number? >:(

I don't have that problem with my Amex ???

cancel the card, it's obviously being sold on lists of cc numbers.  Pretty common behavior for russian, eastern europe and chinese hackers.

The two times with two different card numbers looks like a larger problem.

It could be coincidence and she is really unlucky with people getting her card number or it could be a larger case of identity theft.  I would pull her credit report and look for more.

Does she eat out and use the card to pay?  I do not use any of our cards for any restaurant payments anymore. Nor any others where the card is not visible to me for every second; I really do prefer swiping the card through a reader myself without ever letting anyone else handle the card.  It is all too easy for anyone to buy a small CC reader and swipe your card through it; seconds later that card can be busy buying things for someone else. And one must be careful at ATM's.  Good thing you rad the statements; the crooks also count on people not checking their statement.

Amex and other cards with high or no limits are especially targeted.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

That makes more sense than anything else Don. She usually pays for meals out with her card.
The only thing we use them for otherwise, is online purchases and almost always from Amazon. I've never had a problem with Amazon so I doubt that's it.

I can only think of one instance of her using it for anything else and that was through PayPal....which I hit the ceiling over.
