My old computer is too old and slow to use anymore, but it's got my 3DHA on it and I want it on my laptop that runs Windows 7 (if that matters). Is there any way I can get it off my old computer onto my new one? I don't have the cds, so there's no chance in reloading it. Can anybody help?

It's almost impossible.  If it was the same OS, you could image the drive.  There are a few programs that claim to do it, but I didn't have much luck when I tried it. It's been a few years though, so maybe there is something new.  Generally the programs install via the registry, so the disks are needed.

Your best bet might be EBay or Craigslist, or the old standby - the garage sale.
New Mexico.  Better than regular Mexico.

I copied the whole folder onto a thumb drive and carry it around.  I think with the new windows you need to download a .dll file and put it in the same directory IIRC.  I have used it on a half dozen computers.

I have one program I have migrated from computer to computer by simply copying the file that holds it in "programs files" to the new computer. Then I run the executable and it works. It is a simple utility program, but that might be worth a try. I too, have tried a couple of programs that touted themselves as being able to move a program between computers. None worked well for me.

Just because something has been done and has not failed, doesn't mean it is good design.

Like Don said, start out by copying the whole directory under program files.  Because some programs like to install files in other places like the windows directory you may get a file not found error when you try to run the program on the new PC.  Note the file name its looking for, goto the old PC and use file explorer to search for the missing file.  Once you find it, copy it into the directory with the program on the new PC.  You may need to find a couple more files if more errors pop up, but this method often works.  Normally you can copy them into the program's directory on the new PC instead of where they were on the old PC, that way next time you need to do this, you can just move the  directory.  I have moved 3DHA using this technique.
