I noticed tonight that my tinnitus is much worse. I can only assume my shooting muffs aren't doing the job anymore. They weren't expensive and must be 40 years old now

I did a little reading on the net and decided to order these:

They are a little bulky for rifle shooting but if they get to be too much of a chore, I'll keep them for handgun only and get something else for rifle.

Peter... best solution is custom molded ear plugs, plus muffs.  You can now buy home kits for making ear plugs.  I spent $60 on a pair at Whittington Center in NM 10 years ago, and was one of the best investments I've made.

Just an idea Peter.  Use your old muffs with foam ear plugs if you do not like the new model for rifle.  I had a stereo mag that suggested that most foam plugs were very good to above average over muffs.  The ones we get at work I think made by EAR were best at test but I hate to wear them.  They irritate my ears so bad.  They tested better than molded but if you cant wear them what good are they?  But the testing was sort of sketchy because ear canal and how well people seat them in their ears.

But I agree with Shooter the best is more than likely plugs and muffs.  Being around noise all my life saw and planer mills, driving truck, then the last thirty years plus driving train.  I have a good idea of what you go through.
