I have just completed building a cabin using the small house plans and I am now ready to put siding on the exterior.  I would really like to use some form of log siding with the realistic corner treatments but they seem to be extremely expensive.  Does anyone have any advice on log siding and a gook source to purchase it from.

Check out my log cabin siding, I only just recently started putting it up. Im just usuing 2x2 boards for framing the edges. Im going to stain the 2x2s, they are mounted in the picture but just tacked up so I could start putting siding on.

oh and they cost 16 bucks a board, and the boards are 16 feet long. I got it at Rona in Edmonton, and they delivered it. I ordered 100 boards.

Must be cheaper in Canada with all those forests.

It's twice as much around here (Actually, you can just about see Canada from this shop):

$2 a foot for 8 inches of siding (and I think that includes the lap) isn't cheap.
